Donnie must = ODB, it only makes sense...or a CC apocalypse is upon us.

Might be able to add Todd McLellan to the potential coaching list.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

CANUCKS TO FIRE HEAD COACH TORTORELLA THURSDAY

The Vancouver Canucks are making a coaching change.

According to TSN's Vancouver reporter Farhan Lalji, the Canucks will fire head coach John Tortorella Thursday, one season after taking over for Alain Vigneault.

Tortorella missed six games this season due to suspension after confronting the Calgary Flames after a line brawl in their Jan. 18 games against the Canucks. He was suspended 15 days and was barred from contacting the Cancuks' team before, during or after games after trying to enter the Flames' dressing room.

The Canucks went 2-4 over that six game stretch. They were fourth in the Pacific Division and held the first Western Conference wild card playoff berth at the time of the incident against Calgary.

Tortorella, who was in the first year of a five-year, $10 million contract, joined the Canucks after being fired as head coach of the New York Rangers last season.

In parts of 14 NHL seasons coaching the Rangers, Canucks and Tampa Bay Lightning, he has compiled a 455-367-37-82 record. He guided the Lightning to the franchise's only Stanley Cup in 2004.

He was awarded the Jack Adams Award as the league's top coach for the 2003-04 season.

Once upon a time some NHLPA higher-ups were saying Linden can be a major asshole.

But then I tend to be somewhat of an optimist.

We don't need to know what Donny and Ohdee have been up to, we just need to be thankful that they're back.

Stringing Torts along for weeks while there are coaching vacancies around the league only to fire him in June or July would be a dick move, wouldn't it?
Well, here's to hoping that Linden is no longer that "nice guy" you refer to and that he has learned from his external business dealings that you have to (at times) cut some throats to make some hay.

Otherwise they (or a grudgingly submitted we) may still be fucked.

Right Alice?

DONNY!!! I missed you. You left me here slumming with these sloppy seconds!

Think of Donny, and he shall appear.

Think of Torts getting canned, and he gets canned.

What will I think of today?

Agreed.

Mikey had some solid ideas.

Exploring the science of sleep and nutrition as it relates to performance (especially for a West Coast club) - upgrading facilities to make the boyz feel all special about themselves (a Mark Cuban thing originally when he first took over the Mavs) - solid at contract negotiations (other than handing out no trades like they were mini-chocolate bars at Halloween) et cetera.

Either he or his pro scouting were brutal in a coupe of his major trades however and in the end I think his arrogance did him in.

But kudos to Mikey for wringing a few extra mill out of the brothers and maneuvering his own departure.

Some slick shit that.
