Halak traded to NYI for 4th round pick. Was not going to extend in Washington, wants to test FA so Washington gets something for him. Will be interesting to see if he signs with the NYI or waits. I'm kinda hoping the Canucks pick him up on a 2-3 year deal to platoon with Lack.

...and lose Markstrom? Highly doubt he'd clear waivers.

I've heard both... Regardless, seems to me he's ready for the NHL and needs to play. Nothing wrong w/ splitting games w/ Lack and see who comes out on top.

Ok, I qualify my statement with this, if Markstrom is still waiver exempt I would like them to bring in a Halak type, even for just one year. Let Lack have 40+ games in Vancouver and let Markstrom have 40+ in Utica working with Rollie the goalie. If Markstrom is not waiver exempt then I would not want to lose him for nothing. The option then of course is to trade him and still bring in an experienced goalie.

As it stands today I don't have a lot of confidence in those two, Jacob and Eddie, being our tandem. That could change I know.

Nope, after training camp this year he is NOT exempt.

I provided evidence of this in another post awhile back...

Thanks for that.

I would be looking seriously then at whether there is a trade market for him, either stand alone or as part of a package. Not because he lacks potential but because I think we are better suited to having someone with experience to back up Lack.

Oops. I just used the waiver calculator at capgeek and is says 1 year or 25 games remaining in his exemption, but I see now that doesn't include 2013-14.

That sucks then, and I can see us running with Lack/Markstrom.

Put him on IR
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Apparently Tallon is open to trading the #1 overall pick...just when Gilly got fired. :P

Maybe Benning can offer up the #6 overall plus a one of our dmen, wonder if Garrison would waive his NTC to go back.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Seeing how good these goalies are playing in the playoffs makes me want Schneider back asap.

Plus how Lack performed after Luongo got traded makes me want Schneider back with the Canucks that much more.

Hoping CS declines a contract extension so the devils can trade him, where I'd offer Lack + a pick for CS.

CS will get a monster contract offer from the Devils. They have to. They have been spoiled with great goaltending and I don't see them letting him go. It would be great if he became a FA and came back but he is a Boston boy and NJD is closer to home than Vancouver.

Turn the page.

Yeah, I just listened to the audio on that and he sounds serious.

Said he's not just listening to offers, said he's actively shopping the pick.

Said they have a lot of young players and need some solid vets to help them along.

Said he's got the green light from the new owners to spend to the cap.

Rumours are that he wants Nikolaj Ehlers, who should definitely be there at the #6 spot.

Panthers main need is an established Top Four dee.

And your Vancouver Canucks have one to spare.

#1 overall (take Reinhart) for #6 overall + Edler + ??

This is the trade fantasy thread right? :mex:
