I said before, Tanev developing could make Hamhuis expendable.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

Exactly.Topper wrote:I said before, Tanev developing could make Hamhuis expendable.
Tanev will be a RFA this year and is not a big offensive contributor, which means he'll still be cheap compared to our 'Top 4'.
Re: Trades and rumours (& fantasies) 2013-14
Trade Hamhuis so we can keep Edler and Tanev?
And thanks to the olympics, everyone wants hammy now.

Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

ok hypothetically speaking, say we had to trade Tanev cause he wants $5M per or something ludicrous, what could we get for him?
Jamie McGinn?
6'1", 210 lbs. 25 yrs old LW, from Ontario.
Can play a sound defensive game and also displays streaky goal-scoring ability. Works very hard when on the ice and is also quite versatile up front.

There's no need to trade Hamhuis at this point as we can afford all of them quite easily now and going forward.SKYO wrote:Trade Hamhuis so we can keep Edler and Tanev?

I think you may look at moving a guy like Hamhuis or Bieksa a year or two from now.

I wonder if there is any chance at all the Sedins would be willing to waive their NTC's? I really wish we didn't sign those albatross contracts.

So you're one of those guys who thinks a team contending for the Cup with offensive problems in the playoffs should be trading a skilled, young, offensive producing C for futures?Topper wrote:Not to me.RyanGinger wrote:Traded Hodgson for Kassian, which at the time was pretty crazy.SKYO wrote:

Cojones, yes. Brains, not so much.

We were contending for the Cup? With the Sedins as our most important part of our offense?The_Pauser wrote:So you're one of those guys who thinks a team contending for the Cup with offensive problems in the playoffs should be trading a skilled, young, offensive producing C for futures?

Kassian gives bandaids. Hodgson wears them.
Given this teams' injury history, do you really think Hodgson survives more than one playoff round in the Pacific division?

Enter Dave Nonis.....TSN wrote:Richard Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger asked Martin Brodeur if he would be surprised if Devils GM Lou Lamoriello approached him about waiving his no-trade clause. The 41-year-old is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
"No, not at all," Brodeur told The Star-Ledger on Tuesday. "It's within the team's rights to try and make themselves better. The fact is, I have the luxury to decide what I want to do. I hope if he (Lamoriello) is able to help the team, he'll ask, regardless of what it is. It's definitely something that is possible."

The irony would be just sick if the leaves traded Bernier or Reimer for Brodeur.....it's something a desperate team might do if they think that goaltending is what stands between them and playoff success.

Basically swapping coaches with the Rags last summer instantly made us great trading partners.
So who's in the mood for a shakeup?!!
Edler + Hansen +?... for... Callahan + Girardi.
Edler + Burrows... for... Callahan + Girardi +?
Hell we can even throw in a slightly concussed Alberts, just to get AV to say yes when Slats asks his opinion.
IIRC Callahan and Girardi were two of Tortorella's favorite players (and feelings were mutual). In a New York Minute
TSN's Hockey Insiders were at work on Tuesday on Insider Trading, discussing the possibility of the New York Rangers dealing pending unrestricted free agents Ryan Callahan and Dan Girardi. "It's my understanding that if the Rangers do not sign Callahan and/or Girardi by the trade deadline, they are determined to trade one or both of them, whichever guy is not signed," said TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie.
TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger added, "I'm told that Rangers general manager Glen Sather has reached out to a number of general managers and he is gauging trade interest on Callahan, less so on Girardi."
