I probably know more about them than you do.

See I'm am an extremely dedicated Leaf-hater.

I do my research.

Trust me, they all suck.
Great breadown of the leaves prospects. Thank you.

On the subject of the Flyers.....

It’s important to note that the first day of the salary cap begins Monday afternoon - and the Flyers’ first game isn’t until Wednesday against Toronto. Meaning, many expected the Flyers to simply make a “paper transaction” and send waiver exempt forwards Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier to the Phantoms for the first day and re-call them on the second.

Just to drive my point a little further home...
http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/freq ... XWe5441.99

It doesn’t take a mathlete to understand that the Flyers are currently over the NHL’s $64.3 million salary cap with Chris Pronger on the roster. Pronger will not play again, but the Flyers must retain his salary cap hit on their roster for the first day of the season before he can be move to the long-term injury list.

http://www.csnphilly.com/hockey-philade ... ary-roster

Remember, the Flyers can’t utilize Chris Pronger’s LTIR money — $4.921 million — until the season starts in October. Pronger has to be on the official roster that goes into the league office on Sept. 30

http://www.whizwitsports.com/1/post/201 ... trade.html

No, putting Chris Pronger on Long-Term Injured Reserve (LTIR) is not an option. They can only do that once the season starts and they cannot begin the season over the salary cap.

http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/5 ... -plan.html

It's expected the Flyers will start the season by placing defensemen Chris Pronger ($4.91 million) and Marc-Andre Bourdon ($612,000) on long-term injured reserve, which would provide salary cap relief as well as room to officially announce Cleary's new contract. The problem is the Flyers “must carry both Pronger and Bourdon on the opening day salary cap” before receiving their cap relief, starting on Day Two.

http://nhl.si.com/category/boston-bruins/

Flyers don’t want to risk losing his intimidating presence, they could demote forward Brayden Schenn for a game and then call him back up for Game 2 after putting defenseman Chris Pronger and his $4,941,929 contract on long-term injured reserve.

http://spectorshockey.net/blog/latest-l ... r-28-2013/

It’s believed the Flyers will simply make a “paper transaction” by demoting Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn (who are waiver-exempt) for one day, then recall them after placing Chris Pronger on LTIR (as he must appear on their opening day roster before he can be placed on injured reserve)
Islander is an ass and the Great Strangelove is an asshole.

No problem, I wouldn't want you to get your hopes too high.

Perhaps at another time in another thread we can discuss Leaf prospects in detail.

You don't think Colorado (10M in cap space) would take Liles if he came with Tyler Biggs or Joe Colbourne for a guy like Desbiens?
I have to say that Colorado is the ONLY place I can see Liles getting traded

(past history there, still has off-season home there, Avs have cap-space, Avs need another dee)

BUT

the Leaves would ALSO have to eat half of Liles' contract imesho (ever so).

Yep. That's how it will work. Like I've said all along Pronger will (or at least could) go on LTIR on the first day of the season, which is October 1.

What part of "on the second (day)" did you not understand?

And what about all my links??

Also:

The upper limit is $70.0 million and a team has a cap payroll or "Averaged Club Salary" of $71.5 million on the final day of training camp. Player A, carrying a $2.0 million cap hit, is placed on LTIR that day.
So, every Flyers fan SHOULD read this.

LOL the Leaves are running with an AHL lineup + Franson + Liles + Reimer.

They called up almost EVERYONE from the Marlies!

Obviously they realize how completely screwed they are if they pick up another injury.

Except for Liles of course, they want Liles to get injured!

They had to get Franson in a game and Reimer was promised this one.

Wouldn't be surprised to see a target sewn on Liles' back.

Look for him get 25 minutes tonight!

say waa?
Colborne to Flames for a 4th round pick.
The Toronto Maple leaves have traded centreman Joe Colborne tonight to the Flames in exchange for Calgary’s own fourth-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. The pick can be upgraded to a third-round pick in 2014 if certain conditions are met in the upcoming season

First thing I thought was "would've jumped on that for a 4th rounder. Big young centreman can't hurt. Like the size.

Also interesting trade, we shed Tochkin and gain forwards Zac Dalpe and Jeremy Welsh? Sounds like a good albeit minor move, Tochkin didn't have a future with us and these guys at least give us Comets-fodder with some size.

It seems Welsh was a salary dump by Carolina ($1.0 mil one way contract), Utica bound. The interesting one is Dalpe. He is a center man but has played wing with Carolina since they are deep at center, but is waiver eligible,($550,000 one year two way deal) so it seems he may be getting a look with the Canucks. The upshot appears Carolina had to add Dalpe in order for the Canucks to take on Welsh's contract for a fourth and Tochkin another AHLer.

It would make no sense to trade for Dalpe to immediately lose him on waivers, so one could speculate at this point that when the smoke clears and the suspended players return, Richardson is slotted in on the wing, Santorelli at one of the center positions, with Dalpe and Schroeder at the other, assuming Horvat/Shinkaruk return to junior.
