Hey, careful, don't criticize ex-Canucks in this thread.

Name calling can ensue.

LaGongshow was lucky to stop Sharp late when he did or we (obviously) would have lost that one too.

I never realized how one sided that game was in Vancouver's favour. It should have been a blowout and never got to the dragonslayer goal. Crawford was unreal

Too bad Van didn't have competent goaltending for that run. They would've won a cup
Is that still on? What channel. Can't find it on the app.

I forgot how easy it was. [bold face lie]

Would have changed so much if that one game went the other way. Not just for the playoffs but for the team the next year.

I was at the game, greatest sports experience of my life. But I remember in the lineup for the john before OT, everybody knew the Canucks wouldn't make it easy on us, but that they'd still win.

In hindsight it would have drastically altered the landscape for the team had they lost. AV would have been gassed for sure and there would have been some players jettisoned as well.
“Cap space doesn’t matter” - Idiots

“We need some depth on this team”- Bo Horvat

This is a split sig for those that don’t quite get it.

So now that Green and Benning have neuter all the grit from the team (with all due respect to an angry little elf), I’m getting flash backs to that high octane 1986 Canucks team.

Toni Tanti 79 pts (Boeser)
Barry Pederson 76 pts (Horvat)
Petri Skriko 74 pts (Miller)
Patrick Sundstrom 71 pts (Pettersson)
Doug Lidster 63 pts (Hughes)
Stan Smyl 43pts (Garland)

Record that season - 29 wins, 43 loses. Last in the Smythe Division.
I have no idea how the brain trusts came up with the idea of recreating a soft team like that?

Oh, hang on a second. I forgot to add one player.
Jim Benning 13 pts
I guess I do know where Jim learned how to construct a team after all.

I pray this isn’t history repeating itself, but I’m nervous. :eh:
We are all expecting changes.
