Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
The last rumour was the sticking point for Marner's offer sheets negotiations has been the length, with Mitch wanting 4 year deals and no team willing to give up 4x1sts for such a short term.
Which means the salary number isn't the problem - he's been offered $11+ mil. Teams are willing to do the compensation, but want extra years.
This tells us that Marner has offers for his target salary.
It also tells us he'll only sign for 4 years max.
All of this is terrible news for the leaves. If they keep him, it will be short term and big bucks.

Except they do. Hyman and Dermott will be on LTIR to start the year.Reefer2 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 7:41 pmThey don’t have the cap if he wants $11-$12, can you confirm that. What cap space do they have and how much will he want?BigTuna wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 4:52 pmThey have the cap. They simply have to wait till that first RFA signs. Mitch Marner won't sign for a minimum another month, nor will Rantanen or Point.
Unless of course he gets tons of offersheets like Dreger said would happen on July 1st. LOL

Where will they be ranked with Matthews-Marner-Tavares @ 41% of the team cap?BigTuna wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 7:43 am https://theathletic.com/1078201/2019/07 ... fficiency/

I'm sure you love TSN when Dreger tells you how many offersheets Marner will sign daily. TSN.ca should just rename the site MMN.ca for Mitch Marner Network, cause that’s all you’re getting there “what did Mitch Marner eat for breakfast today?”, “what time did he go to sleep, last night?” That Network should be embarrassed of themselves.
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau
Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
Agreed, Sports Net is not much better. Front page news when they sign some no name.

I saw Donny in person a couple months ago, he's definitely built a radio-bod since leaving TV.micky107 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 1:08 pmYUP !!
