Ahhh so the coppers were being "lenient" in not laying criminal charges this time.http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/m ... -1.2919734
A few fans were so unhappy that they tossed team jerseys onto the ice, prompting police to remove some spectators from the Air Canada Centre.
A Toronto police tweet says three fans were removed from the property and banned for a year from all the buildings belonging to the leaves' owner, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.
A police tweet also said the men were ticketed for a provincial offence. Police said their names won't be released.
Another police tweet says "officers used discretion ... and opted for non-criminal charges" against the fans.
(just non-criminal charges)
Apparently it's appropriate to throw hats on the ice after a hat trick though.
"YOU VILL CHEER FOR ZA LEAVES OR YOU VILL BE SHOT... UND ZEN HUNG!!!"
So much for "Freedom of Expression"....
I see a lot of grumbling about this at the centre of the universe.
Hmmm... this just may backfire very nicely indeed.
Leaf fans are revolting!!!

Apparently these two were hauled away after the game and haven't been seen since.

What I read was the fans who threw the jerseys during play were in trouble , those who waited for a whistle were fine
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.
I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

MLSE better post some signage at the ACC.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
I think all arenas are pretty strict about fans throwing anything on the ice during play. In fact, I think throwing hats when a hat trick happens is the only time it is ok to throw something on the ice, tradition I guess. Unless it is an octopus, that's ok, cause that's tradition too. So what we need to happen is more fans to throw jerseys on the ice in all arenas when they are unhappy until it becomes a tradition.
By the way, any fan, in any arena caught throwing things on the ice is removed and banned for at least a year. Criminal charges depend upon the province/state. But I want doc to keep having fun.
This must make Kessel and Kadri happy. I mean Kadri wanted them dragged from their seats and pummelled. Are we sure he isn't Muslim? There, I said it, now shoot me.

What are the charges? Littering?
Being banned from the ACC sounds like a great way to save a shit ton of money, and increase your life expectancy.

There have been a dozen jersey-tosses in the NHL this year.Hockey Widow wrote: By the way, any fan, in any arena caught throwing things on the ice is removed and banned for at least a year. Criminal charges depend upon the province/state.
This is the first time charges were laid.
If these Leafers have any gonads, they won't take this lying down damnit!!!

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread
I thought the first couple jersey tosses in Edmonton and Toronto were the meaningful protest of heartbroken fans against the horrid state of their franchises. The more they do it, the less impact it has IMO. 3 in one game is a cry for attention.
I do love the leaves sucking ass, though. It's been painfully obvious to most of us (obviously not Tuna) that the leaves just aren't a great team. They don't have a number 1 C. They don't have a number 1 D. They hang their goalies out to dry. They overpay a good chunk of their players. They overvalue nearly all of them. They've bought into the media hype that kicks in before training camp and is now crucifying them for making the pundits that always hope for big things look bad.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing repeadetly and expecting different results. 2012 saw the "18-wheeler off a cliff" collapse. 2013 saw the worst game 7 collapse in the history of hockey. Last year they won just 8 of their final 25 games. And now you have their current 3 wins in their past 15 games stretch. At what point does management wake up and realize that it's not about the style of play, the system or coaching staff lacking motivation, but that the foundation of the team is build on sand?
