Re: Topper's Grilling Advice!

Cubed watermelon salad with mint, cucumber, feta, and more of that reduced balsamic. Good stuff, my wife makes one just like that with olives.. great for this kind of weather. I was downtown the other day and walked some food cart outside the art gallery that had a watermelon/mint/lychee salad on s...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

That is unfortunate - 8th place in the East is cause for celebration :( But still, they're not buying up all the good players or going deep in the playoffs, and I don't see that happening under the current regime anyways. Plus, they still haven't managed to get any elite prospects to get excited ov...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Unfortunately the leaves are near relevance again; while the CBC might've reconsidered their heavy coverage of that team while they were terrible, ignoring a playoff contender in the league's biggest market would just be foolish. I wouldn't expect TSN to approach Saturday nights differently if they ...

Re: Welcome to the Refugees from "Central"

whats interesting is in the last month at Central, when Doc was banned. Thinker went on a crusade to memorialise Strangelove, even adopting his avatar. If it was him all along and everyone had an alter ego including Chris, I wonder did Chris know about it? I wouldn't read too much into it.. The ava...

Re: Muzac For Munsters

Speaking of old I was going through my CD collection the other day, thought I'd listen to some of the stuff that's been collecting dust for the last decade. Right now I am on the Ween album "The Mollusk"

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

They weren't charging US$ for tickets, and the team still managed to finish in the bottom 10 of league attendance two years running (98-99 and 99-00).

Aww, thanks Doc and a belated merry christmas.

I'm sure old donnie is somewhere tilting a wheatgrass shot in honour of the reprobates with whom he used to waste his mornings.

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I'm not saying Fleury should not bear responsibility for his failure to do the right thing. My only point is that people like James completely mindfuck their victims, and while they can't be absolved of responsibility for their subsequent actions a bit of understanding is sometimes in order. Doesn't...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I'm sure most things that people who were persistently sexually and emotionally manipulated and abused over the course of years think would boggle the mind of any normal, well-adjusted person. Fleury's actions put more kids in harm's way, which is a damned shame. However it might not be very reasona...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Halford is there too, that's what happened to the Kurtenblog.

I actually post in the comments section there from time to time, I'd say it's a solid site for 'around the league' type stuff.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

I don't think weinerdog is talking about "the way it should be" though, I think he is talking about the way it is and he is spot on IMO. Unless the Canucks organization wants to go to war with the media in this town or unless the fans organize and boycott, they are not going to change; they sell eno...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

You can say the samething about all media, we wanted 24/7 news and sports and now we have it. They need to fill air time with something so if there is nothing to talk about then make something up or talk about it so people start thinking there is an issue. God forbid they go out and find something ...
