Re: Trevor Linden is stepping down in VAN

Linden wants to stay on the rebuild path, the Aquas say the rebuild is over....fired! We are screwed with meddl...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Is there even a second serious bid at this point? Seattle doesn't have a building (and just had a huge setback with the current arena proposal) and Quebec couldn't pony up the money to file an application... Quebec is very serious, the only thing holding them back is the low Canadian dollar. ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I could see LA exposing Brown, Chicago exposing Hossa , whereas SJS would have to protect both Thornton and Marleau. Some GM's are said to be trying to trade a number of players they feel they would have to expose to get picks/prospects. Look for MAF to be traded if the Pens can do it. I hope they ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

A lot of talk in the media about how Stevie Y is going manage his salary cap over the next little bit here. So many of his good players on cheap contracts set for big pay raises. He must be loving the Garrison contract right now. Ole Mikey Gillis, gotta love him. Great trade by Benning getting rid ...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

Catching up on the weekend posts and all I've learned is that if guys in rocky bromances start to seek help, Rats has got a career in couples therapy if he wants it.

Re: CC Random thread

"It currently isn’t delightful,” Braun said. Ahh quotes taken out of context. And yeah, I guess Abby will see some growth as anyone with some good sense (and without a trust fund) gets the fuck out of Vancouver. I keep hearing about people going to Victoria now that they've been priced out of...

Re: The Great Jim Benning Debate!

Gonna go ahead and repeat the request that you two get a room.

(Be sure to get one with a bathtub Doc, but don't worry about tracking down an enamel tub.. the lye won't melt through plastic)

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I'd rather not lose than lose with .. 'honour' (?) .. and signing the hunchback to a long term contract that makes him a marquee player on the team is not a great way to avoid losing regularly. Winning is but one part of the NHL entertainment package young David. Oh, do you not care about winning? ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Yep. Burke walked into the best goaltending situation he'd ever have - you can interpret it however you want in terms of his character or his abilities as a GM, but he did at least do right by the player in that case.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Seriously, the Flames had the worst goaltending by far in the NHL this season. I think injury-prone Reimer and that dee will make the Flames a bubble team for the foreseeable future. (a bubble team that consistently misses the playoffs due to depth issues) Is Burke the worst executive in the league...

Re: NHL business

SKYO you left out the best part by a country mile. The Globe & Mail published a search of the unsealed emails here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/incoming/nhl-unsealed-emails/article29425257/ Looks like a lot of email addresses follow the first initial last name format, so you can search "bburke" a...
