Re: OOTS...2013

Technically speaking Hodgson didn't actually score the goal. If you watch the replays i'd say pretty much all the credit should go to Erhoff, with a tiny bit going to Hodgson's backside. In this case the stats don't tell the whole story. I suppose an argument can be made that it doesn't matter how t...

Re: GDT Jan 20 - Canucks vs Oilers 6PM PST Sportsnet

I'm in the keep Kassian with the Sedins crowd. I think that he has the ability to play with them, but more importantly the ability to defend them. I'd also like to see Schroeder called up. As others have said Ebbett really adds nothing to the top six. We didn't generate much offense tonight, and i e...

Extras filling out a roster Really Pot do you realize that Dale Weise last evening had more even strength ice time 14:16 than Daniel's 13:12 than Hank's 12:34, than Burrow's 12:27 than Raymonds 12:39... He had More even strength ice time than Higgins,Ebbett and Kassian... He Had more even strength ...

Re: So, who would you like in a return for Luongo

I don't think Loungo is getting traded anytime soon, in fact I’d give it 2 to 1 odds that he stays here all year. Whatever happens though, I hope he doesn't get traded to Toronto, no matter what the return (reason #1000 why I’m not a GM.) The situation is just ridiculous, the media talks about how i...

Re: Edler signs -- 6 years, 30 mil

The amount of negativity out there, especially on Twitter tells me this is a fantatic signing. Count me in with the group that thought he would get north of 6 long term. He may not be a true #1, but he is most certainly a first pairing guy. As it stands the Canucks have 3 first pairing type dman. No...

Re: 2013 Canucks Short Preseason/Training Camp

I watched most of it and as far as shinny goes it was pretty up tempo. The 2 lines that stood out were the Sedins and the Raymond line. I don't think that Raymond fell down much if at all, so that's a good sign. His lowlight was when he led a pretty promising 3 on 1 and then didn't get a pass off. S...

Re: Connecticut massacre

If it's not directly related to mental instability then what is it? Your average academic isn't plodding along through life then all of a sudden sees a gun then becomes a mass murdering homicidal maniac. It's absolutely a mental health issue. So what is the real issue? We have guns too. Topper roll...

Re: Connecticut massacre

I think one of the worst things that will come out of this is nothing. Call me cynical, but unfortunately this is just the story of the week for many news agencies. It is sickening and horrifying; I can't think about it and look at my kids at the same time. That said, I honestly think nothing will c...

Re: Canucks get Zack Kassian

Why on earth would Harvard allow take home tests? I find that concept just weird. I have two thoughts on him cheating. The first is that he saw it as easy credits and not much work would be involved. He could pad his GPA with only minimal effort, especially considering the alleged nature of the exam...

Yup, there's no denying that there hasn't been a lot to work with (rookies that is) in his tenure here. IMO he just doens't seem very rookie friendly.

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Regardless of who is picked I don't think AV is a coach who gives young players a real chance. Totally agree. Rookies under him get very few chances to play through their mistakes. How many times have we seen guys stapled to the bench for periods at a time? It seems to me he would much rather inser...

Re: Prospects Thread 2012-13

Seems like the young Oilers are still having a problem closing things out, even at the AHL level. Individual stats aside, the team is .500, and haven't won since Nov 2nd. Who knows, maybe they'll turn it around, but it still seems like they have a lot to learn. Watch out if they learn to play D, but...

Re: Shane Doan

Wow, talk about a classic case of undervaluing our players. People are willing to give up an all-star defenseman (albeit soon to be UFA), two very good prospects and a first round pick for one player? How does that get us further ahead again… Now I realize that stats don’t tell the whole story, but ...

Re: CANUCKS SIGN UFA JASON GARRISON

I'm in the "don't know much about him" boat, but Drance is really keen on him, just check his twitter feed. If he's half as good as he says he is, i think it's a solid pick-up. Mckenzie is also reporting that he turned down 5+ to play in Van, so that's a big plus as well.

Re: Farhan's $Poo Cents

Teams with Hamhuis as their best damn don't usually win cups.
I would argue that if Hamhuis had been our best dman in the finals last year, we would have won the cup...just sayin.
