Re: Connecticut massacre

There will always be heart disease, cancer, mental health problems. But the waters tend to get muddied because frankly he didn't own any guns, he didn't need to pass or get clearance. The guns were owned by his mother, perfectly legal. That's the bad part. You could ban ammunition sales, which would...

Re: There will be a strike

So what you are saying is that the NDP and socialists have been right all along and that there needs to be checks and balances to control the economy? ....The rich cannot be trusted to look after anyone else's interests? Seems to me that the banking crises and the whole bubble model is exactly the ...

Re: There will be a strike

^ LOL I agree, it's damn funny...only because the Euro economic crisis began with the fall of the sub prime mortgage crisis dominos in the good ol' U.S. of A holes... Heck todays economic problems started way before the sub Prime Mortgage. It started with Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagans adhera...

Re: There will be a strike

You know why that is. If one goes t!ts up the rest survives and maybe you missed this part of the article Jacobs put up the $160 million to build the place,TD Gardens. Not the PA or CAW but Jeremy Jacobs. Any one can do it if they want. He also uses it for a lot more events than just hockey, the Cel...

Re: There will be a strike

Hey Per do you really think these owners are enjoying to quote you "To keep their names in the lime light and to earn goodwill" not a lot of that going right now, so IMO your surmising is way out in left field. On a talk radio today Team 1040. One of the hosts would not mention names but he said he ...

Re: There will be a strike

The Ontario Teachers Union, interesting they invested not in Florida or Columbus but in the biggest and best supported team in the NHL ....and then get this .... they got the Hell out of it !! They managed their risk !! and put their money in what they considered a better risk ....I call that smart....

Re: There will be a strike

Sports Franchises are high risk to begin with but are not about hard cash, their value is speculative and the money that is used to purchase it is on paper too. when you talk about risk you seem to confuse real risk- losing hard currency real assets, with speculative risk, paper assets... I can't b...

Re: Where Will They Play?

Kristian Huselius has signed with AIK in the SEL for the rest of the season. I wonder how much Huselius has left ? He was a player, UFA, that I thought might be a good fit here. Great passer of the puck. In fact I often wondered why TO didn't sign him to set up Kessel The only reason I could come u...

Re: There will be a strike

Rather than buy a NHL franchise just investing your down payment you can do a lot better by simply investing. Think if you invested in gold 10 years ago would that be better or worse than buying a NHL team. Hockey is not about making money, it's about winning cups! :hmmm: To the guy that has to ban...

Re: There will be a strike

I'm thinking that the league could have been way more creative in offering a more palatable transition at the very least. If they are really concerned about the bottom feeding teams they could have linked a revenue sharing component. but they have done none of those things. They have a lockout and ...

Re: There will be a strike

Nope, I see it the other way round. It's the owners who are holding on principle, they are trying to break the union, by ramming their deal on their terms and nothing less will do. They could and can have what they want with a softer approach and a transition CBA But that won't give them carte blan...

Re: There will be a strike

From a different forum, a poster kind of sums it up pretty well ?? You're right about the court battle thing... if it does go that far, I can't see this ending soon or anything but horribly messily - far more so than at the moment. One side has to back down... but which one? My own personal viewpoin...

Naw. I'm thinking if he's only 18 then his mother would be way to young for me  By the way did you see that quote where the PA is suggesting that the NHL want players have the right to choose if they belong to the Union, ie the right to work argument. Ottawa Sun "The NHL appears to be arguing t...

Re: Prospects Thread 2012-13

Well some of the best propsects (McNally & Price )are older than permitted and the others have been injured ( Gaunce ) or overseas and are not NA (Jensen**) Gaunce was never going to beat out RNH and he was injured earlier and frankly they don't take chnace with injured players because they have a l...
