Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

I wonder how much taxes have to do with that... http://www.taxpayer.com/media/CTF-HomeIceDisadvantage.pdf ($8.5M in Tampa is $9.864M in Toronto, guess where Stamkos is going to sign) That's a fun little rabbit hole to go down.. Stamkos would lose about 8% of his income to taxes signing in To...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

It's just the same fucking thing over and over again with Tuna. We get it. The peanut gallery in Toronto turns on players. Phil Kessel, Dion Phanuef. Kris Versteeg. Whoever else. Just because these players got trashed eventually doesn't mean there aren't five million homers - some of them in high le...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

You can't deny, though, that $1.2m for Kessel is a bargain.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

It's the combination of not having proven himself and expecting a top 6 role. He seems unwilling to take his 'lumps' which is concerning to me. No question he has a higher ceiling than McCann or Virtanen, I'm wary of giving up guys who have shown that maturity and deal with adversity like being scr...

Well, if it wasn't for the Patrick Kane effect :look: they'd be leading the league in viral load..

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Those are all buyouts. Next offseason you could buy a player out of the six remaining years on his deal and be on the hook until 2028.

Heck if we bought Brandon Sutter out next summer we'd be paying him until 2026. :look:

This guy is just one victim shy of having taken part in the 226th mass shooting (four or more victims) in the United States this year. By the way today is the 238th day of the year.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Every time we see a team sign a FA we think he is either a) overpaid b) too long of a contract. Maybe we are all wrong and these are just the rates player go for??? It is the rate players go for, you're right - and it underscores the point of how hard it is to build your team through free agency, s...

Doc as much as I love debating about the forest by going tree by tree, and then branch by branch, and then leaf by leaf.. just doesn't seem worth the effort. Re: CC Random thread

Jesus Doc, I might have to make a couple more attempts to get through that stream of consciousness.. whatever.. at some other point. On my way through it I noticed you making the salient point that scientists shouldn't be disagreeing with federal government policy which is a rule that's been in plac...
