Wishfull thinking, you can put this in the bank.
Canucks starting core will be identical with no big names added for the start of next season
The only differance will be Luongo gone.
Letang is a pipe dream.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I know trades cant be made in a day but as typical as MG I really wonder what his deal for Luongo is? I highly doubt he has anything to announce prior to the trade deadline unless it really is Buttman asking teams to hold off. I mean MG cant even announce who the coach is and like every freaking Nuc...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
They have cleared a ton of cap space, but I really hope they aren't going hard after free agents. I think they need to do what the Oilers did - just stand pat and pile up draft picks - at least for the next couple of years. And then fill in the spots with UFA or trade a good youngster for a some so...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Potatoe, Gillis didn't keep Luongo so he could win us games this year, he kept him cause of his massive ego battle with other GM's and now that is coming back and biting him in his fat ass, but hey that is just pure ignorance combined with arrogance, and this team is the loser for it, This is nonse...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka
Late to show but is the deal from Pitts not actually better than the deal from Boston (with the confirmed 1st rounder) They were identical offers. Two prospects and a confirmed 1st, no conditional first. Thought the Boston 1st was based upon Iginla signing an extension? Back to Bountiful - wow thei...

Iginla is RW but does not have a bad faceoff %.
Also Vancouver did not seem to be on Iginla's list.

That does not seem like a lot for him.
I wonder if this will bring down the asking price for other players leading up to the trade deadline day.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
I sure hope that Gillis doesn't move the quality asset that Luongo is for just a quick fix veteren rental player. As Gillis thinks about plugging holes NOW he has to mind the future in the meantime as well. I don't think quick fix rental players is what this team needs, we are not cup favorites. Ou...
