Re: Another one bites the dust

Another loss to local music far too soon.

The first punk show I went to was The Subhumans at Carnigie Hall (Main and Hastings). Up until that point, I never knew concerts could be so much..... fun! Live music was never the same after that.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Throwing elbows was Pronger's go to move back in the day, so I guess we shouldn't be surprise now that he's involved in spinning the roulette wheel of NHL Department of "Player Safety" justice. Yeah - I just see him, "Gee I never got suspended for stomping on someone's ankle with my skate - I guess...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Zemgus Girgensons currently has 399,356 votes to get into the game in Columbus. Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban is the next highest, with 240,362. Crosby currently has 218,672 votes.
Latvians are stuffing the ballots. And why not? It's time for Rory 2.0.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

They currently have the 3rd most goals scored in the NHL. Yeah, you hold onto that. You can coddle that thought in April when we won't be seeing you around these parts. #grasping The leaves are terrible yet they're in the playoffs currently. OK. Sure, and the Canucks were first overall a couple of ...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I heard a bit of a fun fact today to remember Pat Quinn related to the Leaves. The Leaves made the playoffs 6/7 times when the mighty Quinn was GM/coach there. He missed the playoffs that 7th year when he was just coach and that Ferguson Jr guy took over as GM; Quinn was dismissed. After Quinn's de...

Re: TV Shows: What are you watching?

Just finished the first 2 season of "The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret" - one of the better comedies I've watched in a while. (Netflix streaming)

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

All conflicts of interest and joke LTIR aside, just the idea of having a dirty player like Pronger in the department of "player safety" is a joke.

"Yeah - sure he stomped on the guy's ankle, but it isn't 'that' broken - no suspension".

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Chris Pronger, while still collecting 15 million from the Flyers, while on LTIR, has been hired by the NHL player safety department. Talk about a major conflict of interest. Raises the question if the Flyers should still get cap relief. Shake my head at this one. Fuck Pronger and fuck the NHL - wha...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Rather than dumb it down, shouldn't the media take advantage of the 'fast' online news sources and discuss real topics in depth. For radio, they should be able to hold an audience captive and discuss the topics of the day. Instead it sounds like they're trying to match the short attention span 'form...

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"

Seriously guys? You're blaming Kesler for looking out for himself... ...but a contract is a contract... Yep - he had a contract and he wanted the security of an NTC when it suited him . If he wanted out, I don't care - but when you sign a NTC and then demand a trade and then limit the teams you can...
