My comment about signing Fitzpatrick was a joke. I tried to use the smiley face but it mustn't of took. You're right about Bieksa being signed through next year so his cap hit will stay ~the same unless DN wants to do some cap smoothing by extending him in the summer ala Hemsky. The guy is definatel...

We'll need the increase in cap space just to retain who we have. Salo is due at least a couple of million raise, if we keep Sopel and smoke they will probably be around 1.5-2 each, Bieksa will get an extension and should probably be over the million mark even as a rfa, after Pyatts year he will comm...

Great moves by DN. He said he wanted a center and another Dman and he pulled it off without breaking the bank. I think he deserves alot of credit for these deals especially since he didn't wait until the last possible minute to try and get max leverage. He addressed 2 needs and did it without mortga...

I agree completely. Bulis really has been an undeserved whipping boy this year. I think much of it stems from the preseason hopes (of which Bulis fuelled himself) that he was ready to make the step to being a top 6 forward. All things considered I think he has been decent this year and is playing up...

Allen and Gelinas would be a nice package. Keenan isn't in FLA anymore Jacques Martin is running things but it still might look bad to their fans if we got Allen back. I know Gelinas is ufa but im not sure if allen is rfa or unrestricted. I would think we would have to overpay even more than the mar...

Realistically I don't think Salo will be moved unless DN gets a severe overpayment. With last years flameout, new ownership, etc I don't think DN can personally afford to look to far into the future for the sake of his own job. Trading Salo sends a bad message to fans and the other players and just ...

When you are paying Naslund 6 million you need to give him some complimentary linemates to maximize his effectiveness. So far we haven't seen anyone who can do that on consistent basis and Moran is worth a shot. I agree that it does seem profligant to retain Santala and Chouinard but we don't have m...

bench Bieksa? I'm speechless at the absurdity of such a suggestion. WCE did a fine job laying out hte case for Bieksa so I won't go there. He isn't going to win the Norris this year but all things considered he is far and away the biggest positive surprise on the team this year. Considering what i e...

All I know is that it is inexcusable that chouinard hasn't gotten the boot yet. 2mill + for a guy that can't even make the lineup over guys like santala, burrows, cowan, green, etc. I know we don't have a great depth at forwards but considering our cap situation that salary is an albatross and guys ...

I agree that the weakness of our farm system has to be addressed but that is a long term project. I don't think this years team really has a shot at doing much in the POs (if they can even make it) and we can't continue to handcuff ourselves vis a vis the cap. As much as it would suck in the short t...

I agree with the sentiments being posted but I don't realistically expect any changes. I think we just plod through the rest of the season and wait to try and swing some deadline deals when we can get the maximum return on our assets. I do think we should be rotating some of the Moose through the sy...
