Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
The only move that they made which I think was a whiff was letting Stetcher go. Tanev and Markstrom wanted cash, term and (in Markstrom's case) no-movement protection. Benning didn't - and should not have anyway - accept the term both guys ended up getting. Long-term, letting Markstrom and Tanev go ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
Good pickup by Benning. Wish Schmidt was 27 instead of 29 considering his contract and age of the core, but the acquisition cost is pretty sweet. Like UWS pointed out, I don't think Benning wanted to be hemmed-in by term and NMCs - which is what Markstrom and Tanev wanted in the end. With that, and...

Re: Which would be the worst UFA contract?
The only way a Markstrom deal makes sense is if he has no expansion protection. Benning needs the flexibility come expansion draft time.

Re: Boeser, Brock
I think a lot of the people on the 'Trade Boeser' Camp have anxiety about his apparently diminished shot. They also salivate at the likes of Podkolzin and/or Hoglander becoming top-6 wingers. They look at what Toffoli was able to do in the regular season and the fit he had with Pettersson. Finally, ...

Re: Goalies moving forward.
I've listened to Benning's interview 3 times now and the most critical point he makes about the goalies is that he feels with our travel schedule, it's better to go with two proficient net-minders. Sounds like he wants Markstrom back but can only spend so much and Jacob has the right to test the ma...

Re: Your Vancouver Canucks 2020 Stanley Cup Playoff MVP
Pettersson for me. For a guy with such skill, he did so many other things on both sides of the puck and in every part of the ice. A lot of thankless work in dirty spots, and did it well. Those goals in The 3rd period of game 6 were due to the screens he set. He took on the physicality and still thri...

Time for these guys to start crashing the net and get some chaos going in the crease. They have the big bodies to do it. This game is big.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020
With Green sitting Jake for a tune-up game, it was the right move to send a message not only to Jake, but to the rest of the team. If Jake sits tonight, then there's something to discuss. If Green sits Jake in favor of Motte, Beagle or Roussel, the situation with Jake must be extraordinarily ugly, ...

I'm going 4-2 with an empty-netter for our boys. Petey, Miller, and Ferland - with Pearson getting the EN.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020
I’m not as skittish about Fantenberg/Stetcher. Funny, though, that I have heard little about Stetcher this camp. Then again, outside of Hughes and a more-rested Edler, I haven’t heard much about any of the blue liners at camp.
