Re: 2017/18 Canucks head coach search

Don't understand why, as it looks, a move to another inexperienced coaching situation. Also; I took the time to listen to willy's closing presser and you put that together with Jim and Trevor's and the player interviews and it all adds up to absolutely nothing. Like nothing is wrong or has been wro...

Re: 2017/18 Canucks head coach search

If Green gets the job, it'd be surprising if Baumgartner wasn't an assistant coach.

Re: The Rebuild...

It's actually funny reading some people screaming for a rebuild but can't recognize that's exactly what Benning has been doing. But I guess if he called it a rebuild instead of a transition it would change everything he has done. I... don't really get this either. What's left to rebuild? The Sedin'...

Re: The Rebuild...

This Canucks fan base is such a group of complainers. Can’t see the forest from the trees, led by the losers at TSN 1040. The only guys worth listening to on that station are Ferraro, Price and Patterson. Bob McKenzie the other day was saying that making the playoffs three years ago was the worst th...

Re: The Sedins - time for them to hang em up?

As recently as last week, Henrik Sedin said that they will play next year and they do not want to play anywhere else. They would consider playing in Vancouver beyond next year if the Canucks see a future for them. They are not being traded. They will not retire early. To paraphrase UW, this team wou...

Re: Willy D death watch...

I didn’t despise Willie, but I also don’t think he’s a great coach. It’s not like by firing him we’re making a big mistake like when we moved on from Alain. I wouldn’t be shocked if this is the end of his career as a head coach. I agree HW regarding special teams. This team's only chance was to have...

Re: TDD 2017

Fabulous trade deadline by Benning. Probably a year or two late, but hard to argue with the process. Regarding grit and being hard to play against, guys like Hansen and Burrows are easy to replace compared with highly skilled forwards. The biggest question mark still is - who will be our top line i...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17

Boeser was asked if the plan for him was one more year at UND and then turn pro. He confirmed yes. If all goes according to plan this season he expects to sign with the Canucks next spring. Everyone can breath easy now! I don't think people really thought Boeser would be a college FA threat a-la Ve...

Re: 2016 Free Agency Frenzy

Bergeron is a franchise center. Continuing to play devil's advocate here, but Getzlaf, Giroux and Kopitar weren't picked all that high. There's no debating that, all things being equal, the higher you pick the higher quality prospect you are going to get. I've noticed in Canuck-land a bit of a pro t...

I don't see why not. Let's put it this way, I see no reason to write him off and say his ceiling is XX.

Slightly less productive than Bergeron would be outstanding.

Re: 2016 Free Agency Frenzy

To be fair, there is a chance that one or more of Bo, Jake and Brock may turn into a first line prospect. I'd just like to have more prospects with that potential (as would everyone), and I tend to think that our current strategy is not the most effective at getting more of said prospects. To be fa...

Re: 2016 Free Agency Frenzy

If Detroit is in shambles, imagine what the rest of the league is thinking of the Vancouver Canucks. Vancouver might be the most confused team in the NHL. Hey Everyone! How about this theory. Maybe everything is alright with the Canucks and maybe Island Nucklehad is the one who is "confused"???? Hu...
