Re: Topper's Grilling Advice!

On our way home through Kelowna the other day , stopped at Godfather's Seafood Market for the best cod and chips lunch. If you are in Kelowna at lunch time, off the side of this fish monger in a strip mall on Gordon is a great little lunch counter. Before leaving, I picked up a couple of tuna steaks...

Re: NFL Thread: Thoughts on the game south of the 49th

Those who know, know I'm a Seahawks fan. Damn it has been tough since Ken Easley was forced to retire. Nearly there until the the league and the media took the bus to Detroit. Lord God though, Pete fucking Carrol? How the hell did he ever get another NFL gig. Did find out about Paul Allen subscripti...

The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore

It covers the biblical missing years between birth and and 30 as told by his best friend. As Biff says, life is good when your best friend is a celibate chick magnet.

A sad comment on the kids in Abbotsford and another cost of including Aulie in the Dion deal.

Re: Muzac For Munsters

John Doe, Dave Alvin, Mojo Nixon, Alejandro Escavedo, HankIII I love John Doe. I could forgive him anything. X is an all time fave. Never cared too much about the Williams fam, Alejandro's brother had a pretty killer band, and the Blasters always seemed really boring and borderline rockabilly to me...

It appears to have already been trussed, but I wouldn't want to handcuff your creative juices.

How about these guns for a rack?

Trimming a bit of fat from that pork chop wouldn't hurt.

Re: Topper's Grilling Advice!

Juniper and rosemary are my favourites for lamb. Get some good Greek yogourt and hang it in cheese cloth to drain, then mix in some finely chopped fresh mint and let it sit for a couple of days in the fridge. Serve that with the lamb. I had a discussion with our camp cook about secret recipes (she a...

Try making a mango salsa to serve with your grilled halibut...

Mango, red onion, red pepper, cilantro, jalepeno, lime juice, salt & pepper.
Try finding a mango that tastes like a mango.

Re: Topper's Grilling Advice!

Edit, hali =halibut

Not much flavour in halibut (always get cod fish and chips) so it needs strongly flavoured side dishes.

At the restaurant we served it with a stew of squid, mixed olives, onions, garlic, tomatoes.

You could try pesto made with arugula instead of basil.
