Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

It's great that it was front-loaded, which is the way wealthier teams should structure long-term contracts to older players. On the very day Loui was signed I pointed that out. How is that a benefit? yes, he is a bit cheaper to trade, as his salary is less. But, his contract is almost buyout proof ...

Re: Judd Brackett is history

I’m not happy to see Brackett go. Bright guy, hard worker. If he was working for less of a bird-dog of a GM, he may well have stayed and had the autonomy he wanted. Benning is a bird-dog at heart, and being a GM... well we’ll see now whether he is a GM with a scout strong-side, or a scout with GM r...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

More than a few kids in the 'A' that have the physical tools to play in men's leagues - even the NHL. It's what's between the ears that often needs work. Not that they're dumb, but a lot aren't habituated to the routines, skills, speed of things. Some are married to tricks that got them ahead in jun...

Sucks. Not like he did something stupid - like a lot of other mid-20 dudes who die. Meant to be, I guess, but sucks nonetheless.

Re: 2020/2021 Cap compliance

The idea of trading a young asset like Boeser because the desire to sign Toffli is strong right now seems iffy. We saw a sample size of under a month from a decent player needing the biggest possible contract he can get. His "big money", UFA one. Boeser is 23. Toffoli will be 28 in August. I would ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

I’m all for keeping Marky and trading Demko (expansion draft). IMO Marky is one of the games best right now, you might as well ride that. That is unless Markys contract demands get ridiculous and we just let him walk for nothing for stupid money elsewhere Brobovsky style Marky knows how he got to w...

Re: Time for a new G-Man?

18 straight games now with no even strength goals from Bo Horvat. That’s putrid Green apparently has decided to use Horvat as his 'shut-down' guy. He was put against MacKinnon all night against Colorado. Hard to get even-strength points when you're trying to shut down the opposition. Opportunities ...

It's a bump. Last couple of games have seen better play from the squad. The results should come soon, but the upcoming competition will be stiff.
