Re: 2016 NHL ENTRY DRAFT
Canucks trading for #3 is justice served. We got jipped on the draft lotto, and CBJ gets their 2nd back as the compensatory rule was changed just soon after the Torts hiring. All things being equal with their lack of cap space and our picks being so close, a deal should be made to appease hockey ju...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17
Vey does not expect a QA from Canucks. Expects to be UFA July 1 because of this. Will circle back to Canucks July 1 as part of his search for a new home. Does not rule out Europe or KHL but preference is to find an NHL home. This news makes me happy. :D Ya, I guess Benning saying Vey could benefit ...

Re: 2016 NHL ENTRY DRAFT
According to this guy --> http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/sam-cosentinos-2016-nhl-mock-draft/ We are getting Puljujarvi any way... #clickbait But yes, Hartnell is playing okay, and he's a Benning type player AND if the goal really is the playoffs he could help. I'm just not hopeful that Vancouve...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
And the Oilers miss out on another dman. I can see Cam Fowler being moved. The Ducks will keep Hampus and Sami and they are stuck with Bieksa. Despres or Fowler are gone for sure. Montour and Theodore are young up and comers. They are stuck with Bieksa. We are not which is an example of good manage...

Re: 2016 NHL ENTRY DRAFT
Definitely seems there will be some action in the top 10 picks. Not the top 2 but from 3-10 and perhaps higher there could/should be movement. I think Montreal could still move up but now I read Carolina too.... Gotta get a lot of hockey beer for Friday, should be a good one (like I'm not already ex...

Re: Trades and rumours (& fantasies) 2014-15-16
My money is on the oilers not addressing their shite defence, drafting "another" forward, and continue to overvalue their own players Mike Gillis style, hindering their ability to make "bold" moves like Genius Benning ain't afraid to do Yeah, as long as Kevin 'I killed someone as a stupid drunk dri...

Ahhhhh pfffft...we will be Champions by then....Hockey Widow wrote:Certainly we will not have to expose anything of great importance. However when Quebec eventually gets a team we won't look so pretty. Of course we will no longer have to protect the twins.

Re: Canucks 2016 Post Season Discussion
So with Gulutz out, whom to replace him? I vote for Dallas Eakins (could be better as an associate coach, not as a head coach right now) or Brad Shaw (who scoffed at a year extension from the Blues, as the Blues have Yeo coming in to replace Hitch after next season) Why not Green? Groom him in the ...

Fuck, I have a bad feeling dEdmonton will trade up with Montreal so they will nab PLD and they grab a top prospect D Bastiches! I'm fine if Son of Kieth comes to us too but I was really warming to the bigger, completer Faus Frenchie https://www.nhl.com/news/nhl-draft-pierre-luc-dubois-a-compl...

Re: Canucks News and Notes 2016/17
This is a good contract for both the Nucks and Baertschi. I liked seeing Bear going to the net and battling along the boards, and not becoming Mason Raymond II, though he still falls down a bit too easy for me. It would be good to see if he can keep it up in the playoffs sometime in the next two ye...

Re: Canucks 2016 Post Season Discussion
My concern is the travel between AHL teams throughout the season. It didn't work well for Calgary. The AHL Comets would probably not get any favors in scheduling if out this neck of the woods. Call ups from the AHL to the NHL, well a bit inconvenient but the Canucks can afford the best. Player move...
