Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
I like the Hawryluk signing. Right age bracket. Right price. Good roll of the dice for the bottom 6. If he performs, he gets some term and cash. If not, Benning can look around next summer for the next low-ante gamble. If he pans out, folks like Roussel should start looking over their shoulder.

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
The only move that they made which I think was a whiff was letting Stetcher go. Tanev and Markstrom wanted cash, term and (in Markstrom's case) no-movement protection. Benning didn't - and should not have anyway - accept the term both guys ended up getting. Long-term, letting Markstrom and Tanev go ...

Re: Canucks News N Notes 2020-2021
Good pickup by Benning. Wish Schmidt was 27 instead of 29 considering his contract and age of the core, but the acquisition cost is pretty sweet. Like UWS pointed out, I don't think Benning wanted to be hemmed-in by term and NMCs - which is what Markstrom and Tanev wanted in the end. With that, and...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
It's great that it was front-loaded, which is the way wealthier teams should structure long-term contracts to older players. On the very day Loui was signed I pointed that out. How is that a benefit? yes, he is a bit cheaper to trade, as his salary is less. But, his contract is almost buyout proof ...

Sucks. Not like he did something stupid - like a lot of other mid-20 dudes who die. Meant to be, I guess, but sucks nonetheless.

KHL@khl_eng SKA forward Vasily Podkolzin has been out helping volunteers in St. Petersburg to distribute food to vulnerable residents. https://pbs.twimg.com/card_img/1247177509935796226/VgduuncO?format=jpg&name=600x314 https://en.khl.ru/news/2020/04/06/467886.html Could the toque possibly be a nod ...

I’m all for keeping Marky and trading Demko (expansion draft). IMO Marky is one of the games best right now, you might as well ride that. That is unless Markys contract demands get ridiculous and we just let him walk for nothing for stupid money elsewhere Brobovsky style Marky knows how he got to w...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Let’s not forget that there is a PLA biological/genetic research facility near Wuhan, where the outbreak began. Is there enough evidence at this time to connect it to the outbreak at this time? Not yet, but where there’s smoke... It’s public record via the CCP’s version of their defence white paper ...

Given how they shipped out a lot of their vets, and their owner is the biggest cheapskate in the league, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ottawa took on Louie’s contract for a bag of pucks. Even Dorion knows you can’t have a team of nothing but kids.
