Re: Home Construction Discussion

How's the economy in Arizona? Is someone trying to sell you something? If that thing works, then just use it, they last a long time. Come back when it's done. The economy in Arizona is in the toilet. That's why it's a good time to buy down there for us Canadians. No - nobody was trying to sell me a...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I feel sorry for Peter - yeah, I could see how his voice could become annoying (It didn't really bother me). Anyway, good luck to him in the furture. Looks like the Flames have re-signed BMo - $1.25 million for one year. Not bad. No word on whether he got a NMC  I wonder what the reason was? W...

Re: Home Construction Discussion

I have absolutely no interest in this thread whatsoever. :| I just wanted to throw that out there. I'll be the first to admit it - this thread is not for everyone. But if you own a home, and you need some advice on an issue that you have with it, there's nothing wrong with a little discussion on th...

Re: Home Construction Discussion

I have a question on air conditioners. I have a place down in Phoenix, it's about 12 years old. The air conditioner still works well, but, I had it checked out this winter and the guy told me that it will only last a couple of years at best. So, my question - should I just replace it with another ai...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Iggy would definitely look good playing with Kesler....or even the twins. Iggy in a Canucks jersey - wow. If that ever happened, I'd feel like Charlton Heston did when he first encountered the Apes. I don't mind interdivisional trades, as long as they make sense for my team. I don't think this one ...

Re: Home Construction Discussion

I'm in the process of designing and building a bar in my basement. I'm looking at something tropical - like a Tiki bar. So, it'll have a lot of bamboo in it, grass paper, etc. I'll post a picture of it when I'm done. To me, the most important part is what you serve and the company you keep. Here's ...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Oh well, I'm a hockey fan first and formost, so I'll enjoy the game in spite of my team's struggles. :mex: That's good to hear, and that's the way it should be. Many long time Canuck fans (on here, and from the place formerly known as 'Canuckscentral') also followed the Canucks through thick and th...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Sorry, I should have clarified what I meant by a more mobile D. What I meant was that the Flames 3rd pairing is going to be a lot more mobile than in previous years. Butler should make it, and maybe Brodie. Both are very fast, and instantly make the flames D group much more mobile. That being said, ...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Right now, it isn't much of a rivalry, but things change over time. I was a fan from the beginning. They started off well and in just 8 years after moving to Calgary, they won a cup. Then came the dark ages with 7 years of no playoffs - the time when I really enjoyed Calpuck. Then Sutter comes along...

From Bountiful to Ponoka

Well, since I'm a Flames fan on these boards, I guess I'll start the "meanwhile over in bountiful..." thread over here. New location - new name. Nothing much happening on the Flames front at this point. I'm expecting Feaster to make a few more moves. The Flames D at this point isn't going to scare a...

Re: Home Construction Discussion

Is the stucco applied directly to concrete block or some other masonry? Also, does the stucco go right down to the roof? It should stop up above the roof line, and then flashing should be applied between the bottom of the stucco and the roofing. You don't want the stucco right against the shingles....

Re: Home Construction Discussion

Beauty. I have a stuccoed chimmeny. From the early eighties. Pieces falling off past the roofline (so the top 5-6 ft). Advice? Just stucco fix? Is the stucco applied directly to concrete block or some other masonry? Or is it applied over metal lath or stucco wire (usually over plywood)? What is beh...
