Coulombe while not a physical presence certainly isn't conspicuous by his repeated mistakes. The two on one against Nashville might have been played better, but the last defenceman isn't going to break up the pass every time, and frankly the goal was pretty much a combination of errors starting from...

Good point WCE. What also kind of bothers me is we don't normally (at least it's seemed this way to me) get behind the other teams defense. We'll have the start of a 2 on 1 and then all of a sudden the other teams 2nd D-man gets back there and then we're all bunched in the corner (again), trying to...

It is interesting that Cooke and Morrison have come under the spotlight as two players who are not earning there money based on present performance. The general criticism seems to be they lack the goal production that warrants the pay cheque. To some extent similar criticism is also directed towards...

Glad I am not alone on this. The "new look" NHL looks a lot like pond hockey, particularly the way games are being called. Call the hooking and the holding but lay off legitimate contact including jostling for position in front of the net, and in the corners where the puck is being played. This is t...

This is a personnel problem, so I suppose the blame lies somewhat with Nonis. He gambled last year and stuck with the status quo, overpaid for certain players, and as a result is left with a bit of a hangover, which has been aggravated by the lack of effective drafting of offensive talent under the ...

So what was the knock on Sean Brown? He was cheap, available for the league minimum and probably would have signed for one year, and would have fit nicely in the fifth or sixth spot. While he wasn't the most mobile of d-men he certainly didn't seem to be a liability for the short time he was here, i...

What frosts me about the call is that anybody who has played hockey knows that the little hitch motion by White is exactly how you "kick" a puck back up onto your stick when it is between your legs. Apparently it isn't a "kick" for the purposes of a shot on goal.

Naslund, but for his defensive play which is commendable, is looking more and more like the player he was in Pittsburgh before Keenan lit a fire under him. Certainly given his reputation he probably attracts a lot more attention now with departure of Bertuzzi. Say what you will about Bert, he was a ...

Beyond the Sedins and Naslund this team really doesn't have any pure goal scorers at the forward position. In fact it is even arguable whether the Sedins fall in that category, although if Daniel continues to score at his present pace, he may develop into such a player. Secondly, other than the form...

Gotta go with Finland. They work hard and certainly seem capable of playing any style their opposition throws at them..
