The first round pick if Stuart does not sign with Calgary - which I'm hearing conflicting reports, is the big part of this. If I was Sutter I would intentionally not sign him to get the pick. Kobasew and Ference for a top 10 pick is a steal - even without Stuart for the rest of the year. I don't kno...

I think you are close.....I heard that it gets really complicated when the player you are trying to aquire has a performance bonus clause...then he has a floating number...I thought I heard that the Canucks can absorb around 2 MIL at the trade deadline...its hard as a fan to play GM these days with...

How much salary can Nonis take on at the deadline?

How come no one in our sophisticated Vancouver media is letting us know how much salary Nonis can take on a the trade deadline? I'm just guessing here but.. I think the team is about 1 million under the cap. Then subtract Kesler's salary from the point he was injured. Did they subtract Santala's sal...

TV ratings for the NY teams

I was reading John Buccigross' column on ESPN.com today. He wrote a recent Devils-Panthers game got a rating that equalled 736 people?!? He went on to write the Devils avg 13,206 people per broadcast, the NYI avg 7,336 and the NYR avg 36,834. How does this league take in 2 billion in revenues each y...

Zimmermann just sounded clueless as to hockey & hockey fans imo. He said how the vintage jersey had a history but they really believe there's a new tradition & history (legacy) happening w/ the new jersey & orca. What, underachieving, choking & missing the playoffs? Please don't tell me this is the...

The entertainment value of the all star days is up to debate, but what got me was how the league/Stars dropped the ball on all the little details. They looked bush a number of times and I only wtached about 10% of everything. The Dallas PA announcer introduced Patrick Eaves as "Evans" The Dallas PA ...

James - again....

Your response to looking like a fool after I gave you your link outlining the Canucks-Rangers game 7 was the highest rated HNIC game ever? I believe you stated it "never" happened and demanded a link. I gave you the link on Dec 21st and you've been on the run ever since.

James - I posted the link you were requesting in the CBC thread and it's been pretty quiet on that thread since. Any response to having egg all over your face?

James - here is your link. It's the 10th paragraph into the column.

"Hockey Night's best Stanley Cup audience figure ever came in game seven of the 1994 Cup final - nearly 5 million viewers."

Yes, Nonis gave a 2nd rounder for Carney, but most would agree he paid too much. Now that it's become apparant draft picks are more valuable than before the lockout, I'm not so sure anyone would "undoubtedly" give more.. If you think back to deadline day, you'll recall that getting Carney for a sec...

CBC does a much better job than TSN/CTV....period. What did you all think of missing the first 10 mins of the first period for the season opener of 05-06 season? and the Canucks getting the highest ratings for HNIC ever? Was it against the Leaves in the 94 WCF? The highest rated HNIC game ever was ...

Leaves get the biggest ratings whenever they're on, so it makes sense that the CBC shows nearly all of their Saturday night games, at least in Ontario. You can make the argument about how "Canada ends at the Manitoba border," but the Leaves have the most fans across the entire country, much more th...

Salo willl undoubtedly give us better return than a second. We gave up a second and skinner for Carney last year, who's a number 4 on a playoff team, and a third for Brown, who's a 6/7 on any team. If Salo's on the block come deadline time he'll be one of the most valuable defensemen avaliable, and...

Well, I'll take personal credit for the CBC changing to the Pens/Habs game. Too bad they did it so late, I already made plans to take my little girl to see Santa. Santa always comes before Crosby. But I did see they just had to put the Leaves/Rangers game on at 10:30pm as the replay game. They never...
