Satan certainly would fill a need...a natural RW.

Having said that, does that address the grit aspect ?

As for Huselius, not a fit on this team, IMO, especially at that price AND 4 years. Mason Raymond at 22 and a similar type (body wise) can fill a second line LW position at a much cheaper option.

... I am not so sure its as much as criticizing him but voicing the mounting frustration that every year there are all these big name free agents that (for the most part) every Canuck GM cannot ever seem to land ... no matter how much they offer. Can you give some examples of who got away from the ...

Moose droppings

Appears that the Moose have lost 3 players to European teams. Moran & Genoway have signed on with teams in Sweden. Balej has signed with a team in Czechoslovakia. Moran has tallied 70 + points with the Moose for 2 consecutive seasons and no call up. Hope Gillis is concerned about player developement...

More speculation from Toronto Sun with respect to Morrison/Naslund and Gillis' options.

Just to continue my comment earlier in response to Farhan Gillis, for those who are wanting a free agent just to see a player signed, if I recall Gillis' introductory presser, he mentioned something about building around players (and the Sedins might not be such players) With his offer to Sundin, IM...

I have heard that both have. Rumour ? Contacted at his home in Ornskoldvik, Sweden, the long-time Canuck captain didn't sound especially excited by the pending offer to Sundin. "It's been an interesting day," Naslund, sounding tired, said. "Yes, I've had some offers but I can't really talk about any...

Naslund rumour

Recent rumour making the rounds that may appear in the Province tomorrow...the Wild have an offer in for Naslund.

The fact that Sundin hasn't made a decision maybe delaying both Naslund & Morrison from accepting other offers.

For what it's worth....

It (literally) seems like no one (good) wants to play in Vancouver. You would think that superstars, with Luongo at the fort, would be itching to play here Seems like your 2 sentences contradict each other. If you are referring to Hossa (and this is an assumption because it is in the Hossa thread),...

The Nux (at least in the past) certainly haven't follwed this "new" model. They seemed to be conflicted with what direction to go....at least in my mind. Since the Luongo deal, the D first approach is obvious. And stock piling D, which everyone looks for come the post season makes some sense. Howeve...

From what I've heard, it's a 10 M hit each of the 2 years (average).

As he is over 35 he gets the money no matter what. (even if he retires)

In SI Mag Holland said that their cap structure depends on their opponents. If the other teams spend their money on goal, the Wings will spend their money on defense. Interesting concept that shows the Red Wings brain trust takes note of their immediate rivals strengths/weaknesses and build their t...

For any player playing behind Luongo, it's going to be limited.

Given his games last year and the circumstances this signing isn't surprising.

And, it is SANFORD, isn't it ?

Molson Muscle wrote: I didn't realize the Wings only spent 45 mil last year and still won the Cup. Good lord.
They only spent 2.8M in goal last year.

This year Osgood got a raise, and they are spending less at 2.4 M.

It's interesting to see the dynamics of where teams spend their funds.

The Moose seemed to do well when he joined them late last year and then started to fall apart when he left, so he gives the farm team an added boost, plus he's a decent callup for an O-Dman if needed, can't really complain about that. Have to agree with this. Excellent role model for the Moose and ...
