Thanks Brian.

Haven't been able to get in much lately, but today seems better.

Looking forward to our usual "crispy" service.

Some very insightful comments. In particular the comment about increased ice time. How much easier it is when getting regular shifts rather than sitting for stretches and getting minimal minutes. Hopefully posters will twig onto this when complaining about role players who only get a few shifts a ga...

I'm sure that I don't have to point out to you the difference between not realizing that your action would have a certain effect, and not realizing the extent of that effect. Penner's intent wasn't to hurt Santala Well. Jyrki, I'm sure in the heat of the battle and at the speed at which the game is...

He didn't intentionally push Santala into the boards, rather he gave him a push a few feet away from the boards. Wow ! Just as Bertuzzi didn't intentionally break a couple of Moore's vertabrae. Can't figure out this new NHL reffing. Look at some of the innocuous stick infractions that have been cal...

Re: Coaching Decisions

Can anyone out there explain the logic behind AV's decision the past two games to give Santala 15 minutes a night playing with our top 2 offensive players? An interesting decision to be sure, based on how AV used Santala up to his injury. However, even tho' the general thought is Santala is a defen...

As much as it seems weird for AV to pull this "switch", it was a good opportunity for the team to concentrate a little more on their defensive play (which the last few games wasn't as crisp as earlier). Not a bad strategy using the back up against one of the premier teams in the Conference (altho' m...

I heard it was all to do with salary savings. Moran & Reid are on two way contracts and thus are paid less when in Manitoba, whereas the other players mentioned get paid their NHL salary no matter where they play. At this point Nonis needs all the cap room he can get until the dead line. I suspect a...

... but as far as Bert and Naslund go the last year they played together their "points performance" wasn't actually all that good. In fact even before Berts incident his numbers weren't exactly incredible .... they were decent but not incredible. Certainly stats speak for themselves. I wasn't tryin...

Naslund shouldn't NEED superstar linemates to produce points. I know the thread is titled Bertuzzi, however, the link to Naslund is obvious. While I agree that players with "super star" attached to their name are expected to perform at a higher level than mere ordinary players, there is some validi...

Are the Twins plus the other guy a first line? Certainly. They are getting the minutes and the opportunity. While I wasn't sure at the beginning of the year that they could handle that or take on the role, they have performed well enough to be considered a first line for this edition of the Canucks....

Another thought would be to try to upgrade the defense at the #6/7 position (goodbye Rory). Hmmm.....there have been a number of posters that think the Nux should upgrade at Rory's position (that would be as the astute dp points out is at best #6/7.) At the all star break Rory is listed as a plus 5...

Re: Overpaid In Our Division

Good topic Soapy.....I have been looking at this from a different point of view, based on the under achievers that everyone is posting about with regards to bad decisions by Nonis and who should be traded. At the very least it is complicated. It's easy to point fingers from the outside and suggest w...
