With Edler playing as well as he is, that deal might just work, but I think the Panthers might want even more to part with the only player from the deal pulling a regular shift.... And FL, IMHO Krajicek won't be anything more than a 5/6 guy his whole career. He could be a top for on a CBJ, but not f...

Funny, this year 1st rounders are being treated like how Burkie treats his 2nd rounders. I think a lot of GMs are coming to the realization that windows for success are becoming exceedingly smaller in the salary cap era, and are more desperate to bolster their lineups come deadline time. Still, I ho...

tommy larcheid is gotta be my favourite. And you're right, with that comment, we can close the book on Jan Bulis.

Horrible giveaways and stupid play overall in the last 3 games. We need to get some depth upfront so he can play as few minutes as possible.

EDIT: And Krajicek disappoints me too.

I too would love to see Allen back. If we can package Krajicek + Pick/Prospect for Allen, (or maybe even get Gelinas in the deal too), I'd be ecstatic. Edler could be called up and Fitz can play the #7 depth role. We need more toughness upfront and on the back end. Mark my words, Krajicek will be ab...

There's no doubt in my mind Carter would be a very good fit beside the twins, but Nonis passed up on Carter on purpose, he made the decision, and there's somebody else on his radar. We need a centre and we only have so much cap room. I hope it's a hockey deal, but if not, it could be a Smolinski.

Yeah basically instead of signing a 2 or even 3 year deal for $1.8-2.0 million last year, he's going to be earning no more than $1 million next season. I'd be shocked if someone offers him more.

Well Nonis obviously has his eye (as well as earmarked remaining cap room) for someone else. A fifth rounder in 2008 is just a hair above a bag of pucks... No doubt Maclean pitched Carter to Nonis. When Maclean put Carter on the block he probably called Nonis first, since he theoretically had the mo...

Wow, what a deal. Poile knows this is the best chance he's gonna get. Good move for the Preds, it has to make them the favourite, especially with the way they've been playing this year. And there's no way Nonis could have, or should have matched this. It's the equivalent of Kesler, Edler, a 1st and ...

Would you trade Salo?

The Canucks need a pointman like Salo, but they also need offensive depth upfront. With additional talent like Edler, Bourdon and maybe even Koltsov being on the roster next year, and Salo being a UFA (and probably a highly sought after one), is it worth getting a young player + pick/prospect for hi...

Final cuts announced - see TSN.

Bourdon, of course, is on the team. I'm slightly surprised to see that Letang was named Captain, though.

I feel for MacLean. He seems like a great guy and a great role model for a franchise. But his personnel decisions have always left me shaking my head. He wasn't a great GM in Florida (apart from having a great expansion draft - correct me if I'm wrong) and he's not been very good in CBJ as well. But...

By "media" I meant that one of the first things I remember when Luongo got dealt here was that they told him that he was coming to a "goalie graveyard," and then asked him for his response to that. I almost threw something at the TV. But with Luongo, I too expected better. No doubt in my mind, thoug...

Farhan, IMHO that NOW strategy is as risky as any. A few years ago, many people (including media types like Pratt & Gallagher) were clamouring for trading the Sedins for players like Gratton (among others). Thank god BB had the patience that he did. From what I've seen, and certainly from looking at...

Yeah the media are another problem here, they'll just add fuel to the fire and get it in Luongo's head that this really is a goalie graveyard, and it won't help the situation at all. Sometimes they drive me absolutely nuts

I think Luongo is not our problem. He's not been the stellar force that we expected (and paying) him to be, but I do think he's probably facing a lot of pressure and not getting enough help. For not meeting up to Salary expectations, I'm really more disappointed with Naslund. Here's a guy who should...
