Danny Downer is so right. Good call on that nickname. I stopped listening to him. He still makes some good points now and then, but to hear him keep on whining about "circus time" and the shootout, it just ruins your day. Shorty is a great straight man for Larscheid, they do complement each other we...

Fantastic article, very well written. I will miss Larscheid a lot, I love listening to his genuine enthusiasm. Some people don't realize that it's his job to add colour. He's made listening to Canucks hockey fun since I can remember (about the time of the start of the Pat Quinn era), and all the bes...

Smolinski and Naslund are definitely showing some chemistry. I'm really happy for Nazzy and when Kesler comes back, his speed could be a nice addition on that line. But what can you say about Cowan? I heard he had a nice shot, but it just shows how successful a guy on this team can be if he's just g...

I love these jerseys. In my personal opinion, they'd be the best looking jerseys we've ever had. A nice, clean look. I like the rink & stick logo, it's by far my favorite. Johnny Canuck doesn't look bad, and I actually like the wording around it - it makes it look old school. It's interesting to see...

Great insight, really enjoyed reading that. Thanks.

Hopefuly Nonis has made some real headway on the Salo front. That way we don't have to shell out to re-sign Sopel in a potential desperation move this summer.

Does anyone know what the deal would be if we let Sopel walk???

Agreed, Lowe shoulda bit the bullet (and he still can, in the offseason) on Smyth and then tried to dump roloson (3 yrs/ 10 mm, IIRC) or just ride his contract out. Pisani he could trade for a defenseman, and he probably should have. With his playoff heroics, someone would have bit on Fernando.

Big Losers: Phoenix: Loser team, loser GM. Hard to believe this is Gretzky's team. Greatness as a player doesn't necessarily translate into greatness as a coach. No direction for this franchise whatsoever. I don't know why they kept Roenick (old fart) and traded Saprykin (good young player). They ne...

Yeah, good point about Jovo.ion I remember the discuss too, many of us believed Jovo wasn't worth any kind of long term commitment because he played in only 60% of the games when he was here. Conversely, Mitchell was a player with a long history of being healthy. A smart move.

Agreed, well done Nonis. Though Sopel wouldn't have been my first choice, I am warming up to it.

And if Kesler comes back, our team will look great!

Good job Dave!

While I can't say that I like Sopel back here, I hope you guys are right in that he's improved his all-round game. I haven't watched him at all these last 2 years. And I thought that maybe a Ken Klee could have been had for less, and that a 2nd AND a 4th is an overpayment for a guy who has historica...

Good deal, if only considering what the rest of the market was giving up for players. Smoke will help, a RHS and solid 2-way player.

Good work so far, Nonis!

If Philly is on the hook for 1/2 his salary for next year too, then it's our lousy luck that Dallas was behind us in the standings for all of one bloody week this year.

I'm sure Nonis would have picked him up for 600k next season.

Sounds like Roberts will be going to PITT, at least according to HFboards.... Good for Nonis for admitting his mistake, we all had hopes for Chouinard, but it didn't pan out, so let's stop the bleeding now. Hopefully someone claims him and we can clear a million off the books for next season. Either...
