Re: 2019 offseason

Hard not to like what Benning did today. I do wonder if the revised (lower) salary cap put a drag on some of the deals.

Happy we didn’t go 7x7 for Myers.

Thrilled we picked up Jordie Benn.

waiting on the number but it's big.
Around $8.5M per. Carolina would get a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd I’d they decline. Lots of signing bonus money that Carolina may find tough to swallow.

Re: 2019 offseason

Very pumped to see Jordie Benn in a Canucks jersey. He’s a team-first guy and an even better human being. He’ll take that bottom-pairing role vacated by Hutton, and he can actually defend.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

It's beyond my comprehension that Brock, via his agent, have been trying for ridiculous numbers like 7.8 or 8 for 4 years. Why is that unreasonable? Skinner, who Doc pointed out has been a goal scoring machine, signed for $9M. But he's never produced more than 63 points in a season. (potential) Bid...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

Yeah there is no reason to stress, at all, about Boeser. The player has zero leverage. He's not eligible for arbitration, or an offer sheet. He either plays with Vancouver, or he doesn't play. A deal will get done. I'm gonna say closer to early/mid-August.

A shade over a million on the books for the next 2 seasons.

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Luongo Retires.... https://www.nhl.com/panthers/news/luongos-open-letter-to-the-fans/c-308071408?fbclid=IwAR3fL35XY6wAtYXLg-5QX9t4QmRV4ap9weBrfrjCiQmDNsD_BZxtsaa_7ac So $2.8M cap hit? I assume this means his $800K retention comes off the books? So it only adds $2.2M-ish of new dead money to the cap.

I don't judge transactions against perfection.....sure I'd like to see the team win every deal but that isn't based on reality... I base the job Bennings done against the other GM's in the leagues track records... If we are throwing around assumptions to make our arguments, I'm assuming that there ...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

TRADE: The Lightning have traded forward J.T. Miller to Vancouver for a conditional first-round pick in 2020, a third-round selection in 2019 and goaltender Marek Mazanec. Should the Canucks not make the playoffs in 2019-20, the first-round selection will move to the 2021 draft. Not a fan of the pr...

Re: 2019 NHL ENTRY DRAFT - Vancouver

There are some exceptional Russian players in the league right now. And note that the best ones don’t seem to be ‘problems’. Here’s hoping he makes it to the team sooner than 2 years. I don't think it's a matter of talent, Puck. Pretty sure the NHL/KHL agreement forbids inter-league transfers, and ...
