Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

I think Virtanen plus a small add is what it might take. 21-year-old for 21-year-old. His position alone makes Hanifin a more valuable asset, but there's no way his post-draft stock has dropped as far as Jake's. Hanifin nearly matched Virtanen's career points last season. Get off the glue. Jake for...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Keep in mind there is an expansion draft coming up and the 7th won’t need protecting. Hanifin will take up a protection slot. The other side to that coin is that there are teams who stand to lose a very good dman in that same expansion draft. This means there may be some dmen available in trade who...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If Hanifin were a right shot, I’d be more interested. There is no depth on the right side. If the only way to get him is by trading the 7th or part of our next core, forget about it. Keep the 7th and get a right shot defenseman to add to the core at the draft. For now the team has enough depth and ...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Agents want their guys to show well. Even kids that aren't eligible to be drafted this year are told by their agents to get up today at 6am if you live on the Westcoast and watch. Top 10's are nice.. it shows the kids that have freakish good fitness and the ones that are committed to thier craft. I...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Hanifin is a solid top-four guy already and still has top-pairing potential. He'd likely walk onto the top-pairing here. I might do a 2nd, Gaudette and Markstrom, as Markstrom is a step up from Cam Ward and Steve Darling, and fits a need that Carolina has. lol I'm sure you would. It's probably best...

Would do our 2nd rounder and Gaudette for him though.
Hurricanes wouldn't. Maybe if you add Demko as suggested by Lancer.

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

So, having the FIFA rankings up, I started wondering, what's Canada's rsanking these days? So I looked, and... seriously? 80! Wtf? You guys are ranked below Curacao (rank 71) for crying out loud! Wtf? What happened to that proud French (rank 7) and British (rank 13, 21, 27 and 34) heritage?...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

If a team gives up on a player like Hanafin you have to question why. Makes me suspicious that the team that drafted him doesn’t want him. They have the closest look at him and may have identified issues that other teams are not aware of. It's possible they're merely thinking ahead to the 2020 expa...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

EP+Tanev+37th OA might get their attention, but I have no interest in doing that for a guy with questionable health and who will cost 11-12M after next season. If you're right then none us want to trade for Karlsson... I'm not sure why anyone in our position would, given the cost. He's a top-10 pla...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 17-18 Sponsored by SKYO

Ottawa could get a better package for an extended Karlsson from almost any other team in the league. Anything that doesn't start with our best prospect (EP), gets the dial tone pretty quick. Melnyk is a cheap fuck, that's for sure. But in order to make money, he needs to sell tickets. Karlsson does ...

Re: Playoffs

Maybe let's wait and see if he can crack 50? Tkachuk played at a 59-point pace last season, and was on a 50-point pace as a rookie... Are we gonna say wait and see if Boeser can crack 30 goals? I'd take McAvoy, Keller, or maybe Sergachev ahead of Tkachuk and Olli. But that seems stupid to say, when...

Re: The 2018 NHL Entry Draft

Tkachuk is a mystery but for some reason there seems to be this unsubstantiated sense that he is falling. I find it hard to believe that he will still be on the board at 7. Everyone was drooling over him at the WJCs, calling him the next best pick after Dahlin but he’s falling to 7th. I ain’t buyin...

Re: Playoffs

He’s not a lot better than mantha. Ritchie sure. Also horvat would feed tkachuk his lunch if he ever got mad enough as would virtanen, both guys are bigger and stronger. Bobby Farnham. Virtanen man handled bobby farnham LOL. Are we watching the same fight? I see Jake hanging on, maybe landing one p...
