My earliest memories of the Canucks was from 1980 when I was 6 years old and my family just moved to BC. My uncle had season tickets but was usually away on business trips so me and my cousin used to get to go to all of the games. I remember feeling pretty big getting to take the bus from Tsawassen ...

Jovo trade?

There are some rumours swirling around that Jovo may be traded. Before the season it was thought that Florida was interested and with Jovo taking up a sizeable amount of cap room on a team that is up against the cap ceiling and set to become a UFA at the end of the year does DN try and deal him now ...

I agree we need to give it some more time to make a definative statement, but so far I would say it is marginally better. Games seem to be a lot faster without 500 stoppages for icing, 2 line pass, putting it into the crowd, etc. Lot of good end to end type action and rushes that actually result in ...

I doubt we ever see Keane in the bigs again. I always liked him but his time has passed. Hopefully some of his character and knowledge rubs off on some of the guys in Manitoba and that is how he can best help the team now.

I'm surprised no players wear raquetball type goggles. I remember Kenny Linesman wore them in the oldtimers outdoor game in Edmonton and I thought that they would probably be the perfect compromise for players. Might be able to even get an endoresment contract from oakley or rayban. I'm surprised th...

I agree that Tiger ALWAYS went above and beyond the call of duty, especially when it came to kids. When I was a kid we always used to go hang out by the players locker room after the games. Most of the players would sign autographs for about 5-10 minutes on their way out, but Tiger would stay there ...

I think your right, Smyl and Linden are in a class of their own in this poll. I'd have to take Linden just because I was really young when Smyl was playing and at that time I remember Tiger Williams, Ivan Hlinka and Richard Brodeur being my favourite players, none of whom could really be considered ...

Game wasn't on TV as far as I know. Listened to last two periods and it sounded like they are improving. Going by the announcers it soundd like the team was in the game at least. The way they were making fun of Fedorov it sounds like he really sucked it up tonight, coughed up the puck left and right...

Thanks to the law offices of mooger & tantalum for the explanation. How long was cooke on IR at the beginning of last year? I could only find out that he played 53 games but don't know how many days he missed. Including playoffs he would also qualify for the400 game condition (379 regular season). I...

Does anyone know how incentives/bonus' are dealt with under the new CBA? If a guy makes his bonuses and it puts a team over the cap is the team fined or does the overage get allocated against next years cap? I know I read somewhere that either Allison or Lindros had the potential to make 4.5 mil tth...

Cook is definately second line material on most teams in the league, and probably has the potential to be a first liner on a couple. The guy is gritty, has a lot of hustle, plays pretty smart, and is very versatile. In Vancouver he has been used primarily in a checking role, but he has demonstrated ...

division

I think Vancouver has the advantage winning the division, but there will be a wider breadth of serious competitors than in previous years. Everyone in the northwest except minny has a good paper team going into the season, but injuries and unanticipated transactions could obviously seriously alter p...
