NBA returning to Vancouver? Dare to dream...

I can imagine some may have heard the rumblings from down south about the possibility of Vancouver regaining an NBA franchise. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/170615-pacers-to-vancouver-canucks-owner-makes-pitch-to-simon Apparently, the Aquilinis have made inquiries to purchasing the Indiana Pace...

Re: The Funniest "Sports" site EVER!

This fine site was down tonight, I hope not for long.
It would be a shame if such wit, sarcasm, insight, and vitriol was forever lost in cyberspace.

Re: GDT: R2G6 - Canucks @ Chicago - 6pm - CBC, VS

So much to say, so many intelligent posts here, let me collect my thoughts, full post tomorrow.

And good luck to the Chicago Blackhawks the rest of the way. I have a feeling we'll be seeing this team in May and June for many years to come...

Re: GDT: R2G6 - Canucks @ Chicago - 6pm - CBC, VS

Hmmm 7 goals vs. Luongo in an elimination game.

Hey AV, do you think it was such a good idea to scrap the defense first plan that was so successful on the road in Games 3 and 4?

Fuck me!!!

Re: GDT: R2G6 - Canucks @ Chicago - 6pm - CBC, VS

So let me get this straight, Kesler's interference on Burish is a penalty, but Ladd's hit on Kesler isn't???

Re: GDT: R2G6 - Canucks @ Chicago - 6pm - CBC, VS

I can barely breathe. Two different teams, but on balance, they are so very even. To win this game, this series, the Canucks need to consistently win the 'one percenters' in the 3rd period. One of my favourite sports expressions I picked up living in Australia. On any 50/50 battle, whether for a loo...

Re: Best Canuck Fortune of ALL time!!!

For an impossibly nervous Canucks fanatic, wearing my Johnny Canuck alternate jersey with the 6 foot orca flag as a scarf, and Game 7 ticket (Section 118 Row 1) on the shelf, sitting here game tied 3-3 second intermission trying to soothe my nerves with a double rum and coke, too wired to pace aroun...

Re: Worst Canuck Misfortune of ALL time!!!

Wow Clam, you're on to something. It just goes to show how the game has changed so much in 27 years. A play like that, had it happened in 2009, with the WWW, 24-7 blanket sports coverage, would be scrutinized to death now on blogs, sports radio, newspapers, and TV ad nauseum. In 1982, it was on to G...

Re: GDT: R2G3 - Canucks in Chi-town - 5pm | CBC, VS

Luongo in a post game interview called this game the "best one of the playoffs".
Louie called the team (including himself) out to bounce back and produce, and everyone responded. He truly is our Captain, with a capital C.

Feeling great about my favourite team in the world!

Re: Salo hurt

Great news for Canucks fans that Mike Gillis mentioned today that Salo is on his way to Chicago, hopefully to rejoin the lineup for Game 4.

Salo? Only out one game? Must be the playoffs!!!

3-0!!!!

The Canucks are back on the road and playing their game! The Chicago crowd is sure quiet, now.

I think this game could get chippy, if things continue. Line brawl, anyone?

Re: Pyatt's Return

Raymond would be the logical omission, but I cannot see that happening. Mason has been skating so well, and (more importantly) he is part of our future and we cannot deprive him of such valuable playoff experience. That said, it'd be nice to get Taylors big 230 lb body on the forecheck. Either Rypie...

Re: Naslund Retiring

I agree. The retirement of a number should be a visceral, emotional response to the player's contribution. Naslund provided fans here in Vancouver with a decade of solid production. That, and his community efforts, warrant a classy and well-deserved ceremony. Number 19, however, should stay in circu...

Re: Kesler is a finalist for the Selke

I love Richards and Kesler, especially considering their penalty killing prowess, but I am awestruck by Datsyuk's ability in the neutral zone at stealing the puck from his opponents and launching the counter attack. His giveaway/takeaway ratios are incredible. Datsyuk is the complete package.
