Between this thread and Pratts burning questions thread, I have a question... Would it be possible to perhaps get through, I dunno, 10 games or so before we write off this team? Maybe see the team as a whole and see how they play? Yes, we don't have last years team on paper. Yes, we're missing some...

I'm not too impressed with this move... Should Luongo go down I really don't think I'd trust Sabourin to carry the team. He's an excellent AHL goaltender, but really hasn't proven anything in the NHL. Flats impressed me in the loss to Edmonton, and I thought he earned the job that night. I geuss not...

Canucks fan living in Kent. You can watch some Nucks live games and highlights on NASN on Sky for £14.99 a month and listen to live commentary via CKNW`s website. As for the team, well what`s new? We have won bugger all with half decent squads and i expect we`ll win bugger all with this one but tha...

Re: we will we will suck you! suck you!

It's not like the last core we had was going anywhere. I don't think this is a cup winning team either, but with a bit of patience and some luck, we could be in 3 or 4 years. Sure some of the contracts sound nuts, but there is a good chance that 3.5 mill for Daniel and Henrik will look mighty cheap ...

1) Will Roberto Luongo be the difference-maker the Canucks are banking on him to be? He'll be as good as he was last year, but he can't be relied upon to carry the team in times of need. 2) Will the Canucks make the playoffs? The optimist in me says yes, the realist says it won't be easy. 3) Who wil...

Re: Final Conclusions for the Preseason...

1. Training camp and pre-season was a disappointment. What was supposed to be a competitive camp simply wasn't. If you were on a one-way contract you're simply not going anywhere. Chouinard and Santala were practically invisible and I don't seem them going anywhere except opening night for the Canu...

That's an awful trade for the 'Canes. I was under the impression that Johnson would eventually sign with Carolina, but wanted to finish College first. Gleason is a fairly good player, but hasn't lived up to expectations yet. Belanger is a throw in and Tverdosky was expendable. Great trade for LA. Th...

He won't start collecting his contract until he starts playing games. There is no rush here unless he plays the full year in the NHL. I don't think that is going to happen. This really is almost not a news story. the contract is pretty much standard for a first round pick so it could have been sign...

Grabner Signs

A 3-year entry level contract, rookie max. I'm not so sure about this. He was playing fairly well, but nothing compared to Bourdon last year. I assume he'll spend another year in Junior, but I get the feeling we're rushing our prospect once again. I really think he'd benefit from another 2 years in ...

After so much promise in last year's preseason, I remember thinking, "FINALLY, the Canucks have their first draft pick since Pavel Bure (or Öhlund, I suppose) who can be an impact player right away." Apparently not, from what I've been reading... :( I actually thought Bourdon could step in last ye...

Malkin hurt

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=178189&hubname= Malkin had just finished making a dazzling pass to LeClair when the veteran winger, after missing a great scoring chance, crashed into the boards behind the net and took out Malkin in the process. The Russian rookie catapulted over LeClair and la...

I say 5-2 flames. Our lineup is pretty weak. Let's hope flames don't dress Iggy. I'd probably geuss that score as well, I was talking to a friend who is a Calgary supporter and he said that Tanguay might be dressing for Tommorow's game. Not as scary as Iginla, but about 20 times better then any of ...

Meh... Nothing too special. I'm not a huge fan of the colour scheme, and the skyline looks nothing like Vancouver. Not that it's a bad looking mask, just not the best out there.

I'll be pleased with a 6th seed playoff berth. Let's hope Luongo doesn't get a rough ride. Hell, I'd be extatic if we made the playoffs this year... As for Luongo, if he falters to start the season, the media will give him the benefit of the doubt. They know its a new team for him, and he has to ha...

If another company called you up and said they were going to pay you twice as much you were worth. You would take it. Sure I would take it, if it was only about money. The situation is more like a company offering me twice my current salary, but my original company is forced to hire me back at the ...
