I like the Pettinger idea... I wonder what it would take to get Kotalik? From what I've heard Kotalik can be had, but Buffalo wants a D. Krajicek? Although with Salo out that's probably not a realistic option right now. They'd probably want Bieksa more, but I'm not willing to see him leave. He has ...

I agree with Island, he's way too costly at 1.5 mill, but for 750k I'd be willing to give him a shot. Hey, anyone's better then Santala. He's old, but can still be effective in the right situations, and maybe another Veteran on the roster would alleviate some of the pressure from Linden and allow hi...

I've always wondered if they'll ever be tried apart, but right now is not a a good time. As skeptical as I was about the Sedins and Nazzy playing together at the beggining of the year, they have grown on me. They are pretty much the only line on the team that looks like it could score on anything bu...

No way we get Lecavalier without trading Ohlund to them at the very least....I don't like the idea of giving up Ohlund for anyone just yet. Alfredsson? nope. We already have a choke-artist swedish captain. Now FOrsberg? this interests me, although ii'm really not sure who we would give up there.......

Bourdon sent back

I kind of expected him to stick around actually. Coloumbe gets called up, he deserved it after the training camp he had, but I'm not sold on him. He really has to prove himself against the best players in the world.

Yes, because it makes tons of sense trading our best defender who makes considerably less then market value for short term offensive help... Salo is injury prone and inconsistent, Mitchell is good, but not a #1 guy, and we aren't going to get anyone else to take Ohlund's job for $3.5 mill. A ...

While our drafting has improved (with the exception of the Bourdon fiasco), the single biggest problem that DN has isn't with the evaluation of talent its with the understanding that the lower the free agency age gets the heavier the advantage of selecting relatively quickly maturing forwards over ...

Calgary's 10 player swap was pretty terrible. Maybe not the worst but it has to be up there. To Toronto: Doug Gilmour, Jamie Macoun, Kent Manderville, Ric Natress and Rick Wamsley To Calgary: Craig Berube, Alexander Godynyuk, Gary Leeman, Michel Petit and Jeff Reese Pretty much sank the Franchise fo...

agreed completely. That was 100% no goal in my opinion. He quite clearly kicked it, the on ice referee saw it and waved it off. Why exactly does it count then? I'm going to near to hear a terrific explanation after the game. If we lose because of that, I will be extremely upset.

I'm sure Nonis wants to lock up Salo ASAP, but I think its easier said then done. He'll want at least as much money Mitchell and Ohlund. Can we really afford another $3.5+ mill defender next year? It would require a further drop of depth to lock him up. I'd love to see Salo in a Canucks uniform next...

The problem is other teams see what Morrison brings to us, and we probably won't get a second liner in return for him. The trade will be a salary dump Give the guy a chance. He had hip surgery in the off-season and he's playing on a different line. I would prefer to see Brendan Morrison play with N...

After Kopitar fell to the 10th position, I was sure we'd take him, and I was extremely upset with Nonis for not going after him, but after thinking it over I think the right choice was made. Bourdon has the potential to be a good #1 or #2 guy, and potentially be a captain of this team. He has a rar...

When I watched that draft, I was also amazed at the fact that we didn't take Kopitar. He's an incredibly skilled centre who managed to get drafted despite coming from a non-traditional hockey market. I think should he have been Czech, Swedish, Finnish or Canadian he would've gone in the top 5. No do...

Nolan Schaefer on Waivers

Damn...

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=179946&hubname=

I'd much prefer him to Sabourin, but oh well. Nonis made his choice. Let's just hope it wasn't the wrong one.
