According to AV, it's "because he's a great team player" and his AHL team has been eliminated.

I guess extra bodies this time of year can't hurt.

Just announced on 1040 that Jeff Cowan has been recalled to the Canucks. Insurance? Illness?

I can't imagine him coming into the lineup - unless there are suspensions.
