Re: Gino Odjick last fight: battles terminal heart disease

Quoting Pete Schaad from TEAM 1040 doesn't change anything, nor are Harold and Gino equatable. In your own post you stated that 73% voted "no" to Gino's inclusion in your informal poll last year. This is a very good indication that the whole discussion is only taking place because of his tragic cir...

Farhan, I was in Baghdad in uniform while you were still in your dads bag in liquid form.... *applicable in a strange but somehow relative to the conversation kinda way..... Uhhhhhh, yeah .... it is applicable because since you were in Iraq, it's pretty clear that during your time there you didn't ...

Re: Gino Odjick last fight: battles terminal heart disease

Taylor lost his GF in an accident so its not so damn ridiculous. This has to be the WTF lowlight of a post on the corner. It's silly enough to put Taylor in the same category as Gino but to bring his GF into your argument is beyond silly. I mean, it's like saying if a player's mother or father or o...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

PK Subban and the Habs not even in the same ballpark. Subban is asking $8.5M. Canadiens are offering $5.25M and a one-year deal. Those are just the numbers given to the arbitrator (on a one-year contract). Just part of the negotiation process. Everyone knows Subban will get 8 X $8m to $9m. I wonder...

Re: Gino Odjick last fight: battles terminal heart disease

If they add Gino to the ring of honour they might as well rename it the circle of trust and include everybody that goes through personal adversity...What about Taylor Pyatt? A big Gino fan but a team like the Canucks with no cups should be a little more discerning about admitting a player to this r...

Re: Gino Odjick last fight: battles terminal heart disease

Have a Gino Odjick night at an early-season game to honour his contributions and his character (he was certainly a fan favourite), but I think the Ring is excessive. It's a little harsh, but if he was not terminally ill, we wouldn't be having this discussion. I think that's your answer. O RLY? Plea...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

The Habs are playing a dangerous game if they tick him enough, he might just go year to year until he reaches UFA status which I think is two seasons away and maybe go back home to Toronto which would be the ultimate middle finger to them. LOFL!!! Yeah no, no one any good ever "goes home to Toronto...

Re: Gino Odjick last fight: battles terminal heart disease

In light of Gino's situation, there is momentum growing to honour him in some meaningful manner. It's been suggested by @PeteSchaad on TEAM radio this morning that the Ring of Honour would be the most suitable medium to do so. He cited Harold Snepts who is a ROH member as precedent for a Canucks' p...

Kris Letang hasn't won a Norris, he's not a big hitting defenseman, and hes about as reliable in his own end as PK Subban is. IM...

So, it seems like there are some who are closely connected to said individual that think like Iron Mike who went through multiple firings and hirings, Torts has duh, another "life" left as an NHL coach .................. via: http://thefischlerreport.fanvsfan.com/articles/tfr-exclusive-former-g-m-ja...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Admittedly without reading back on this thread I am assuming that tanking the season to sweeten the Canucks chances in the McMoses sweepstakes next draft year is still a Betamax bone.... IF you're not willing to do your due diligence and willing to read what has been previously stated, you should j...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Yes, but 1% vs 99% type of odds... Well, the NBA Cavs won the 2014 draft lottery with a 1.7% chance (lowest odds, best record not to make Playoffs) and drafted "Maple Jordan." The NHL previously had it at 0.5% chance for the best team not to make the Playoffs but as bro dave pointed out, the NHL is...
