+1
When healthy & not fatiqued by too much ice time, Sami was our most dependable D man.

Garrison is 15 lbs heavier Had 127 hits in 77 games while Ehrhoff had 47 in 66 games and probably half of those we mistakes when he skated the wrong way. I also like the Hamhuis/Bieksa as the top pairing, Edler needs to get his game back and playing on the 2nd line with a big hitter like Garrison w...

Did Garrison come off an exceptional year (in part because of Campbell) ? Or, is he getting better year by year ? Garrison led the Cats in icetime two years ago (pre-Campbell). He has been a mainstay on their #1 PK for two seasons. Playing with Brian Campbell definitely helped his offensive numbers...

The Salo contract makes this signing look good by comparison. There are questions however.
Did Garrison come off an exceptional year (in part because of Campbell) ?
Or, is he getting better year by year ?
Time will tell.

The fourth period rumour mill suggests that Gillis was pitching a Luongo package for a Bjudstad package. Good luck to Gillis. An impressive talent, that guy is. Throw in some combination of Raymond, Ballard, Tanev & more - if necessary (provided we get Schultz to take some D load). Theodore would be...

I have a feeling that barring miracle Schultz will sign with the Rangers, just like many other hyped/prized free agents the Canucks failed to attract in the past. :( Only if we can hit this one to start changing the history. btw, Crosby has reportedly signed extension with Pittsburgh for roughly 10...

... Say what you want about Raymond, and I have said much, in the defensive end, through the neutral zone and on the back check Raymond has a lot to offer. It just sort of all falls apart once he gets near/crosses that blueline.... Raymond entices with his defensive ability, teases with his speed, ...

My bad. That's what I get for using wiki as a reference on player point production.
The nhl.com numbers makes the moves by both clubs look more consistent.
I'll still grumble about Raymond though.

The Flames didn't qualify Comeau. He made the same as Raymond last year (2.5m$). Yet the Canucks submitted cut-down arbitration for Raymond, which at best, could get us to 2.125m$.
