The thought of big Georges lumbering around is kinda entertaining.

Agreed. A short lock out is likely.

This could wipe out coach organized training camps, resulting in some messy games to begin the season.

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Can't see Weber as a Canuck unless he goes UFA (next year, CBA permitting) & they win the bidding war.

Re: Gillis doing OK - but Gino Odjick has suggestions.

I don't really see Bure's jersey heading up into the rafters . He was/is the best player to ever put on a Canucks sweater, but the way he left was just a disaster, both on the part of the team and him/his agent. Long time Canuck fans remember Bure as the most exciting & talented Canuck they ever sa...

Re: Patience: Gillis is doing the right thing.

Gino sounded like he had about 30 beers before that interview. His suggestions confirmed as much. He did sound hoarse. :drink: However, with the exception of the Laraque comment, he made sense - & provided some insight into the Bure situation. There has been plenty of discussion about allowing star...

Re: Gillis doing OK - but Gino Odjick has suggestions.

An interview with Gino Odjick was on the radio (July 3rd). He had some suggestions for the Canucks. 1/ The Canucks need to protect their stars better. 2/ They need an enforcer & Gino recommended giving George Laraque a try out this pre-season. 3/ The enforcer’s job isn’t to run around fighting peopl...

Re: Wild agree to terms with Suter and Parise

Take it with a grain of salt if you will but chinless Gord MIller tweeted the following... Parise and Suter contracts both structured as follows: $12m, $12m, $11m, $9m, $9m, $9m, $9m, $9m, $8m, $6m, $2M, $1m, $1m. Average $7.5m Somewhere in the back of my scrambled brain there is a memory of succee...

Re: CANUCKS SIGN UFA JASON GARRISON

It's irrelevant because Garrison would have commanded $4.25M-$4.5M .... Rationalization. Garrison is great pick up considering he came for nothing and likely will have extra incentive to play his heart out for friends and family. His salary is totally inconsequential considering:.... He’s entertain...

Re: CANUCKS SIGN UFA JASON GARRISON

All this panicking about who will feed him sweet passes.... Interest in what we got isn't the same as 'Panic’. Disciplined D is valuable, but we also need help at the point. It's not like Garrison's PP performance is solely dependant on pass quality. The down low threat of a nimble cycle can open p...

Re: CANUCKS SIGN UFA JASON GARRISON

From Canucks Army. If Jason Garrison had added 3 power-play tallies to his 7 even-strength goals this past season, he would've been worth about a million dollars less per season on the market. But he tallied 9 times on the power-play, second most among all defenseman behind only Shea Weber. All thi...

Re: CANUCKS SIGN UFA JASON GARRISON

From Canucks Army. - the Canucks just made a significant commitment to Garrison (six years and a full no-trade clause) Many expect Jason Garrison to regress this season, and they're correct, but maybe not about what direction that regression will be in. If Jason Garrison had added 3 power-play talli...

Colorado looks like the winner on personnel changes so far .

Parenteau & Duchene could be good.

Will be interesting to see how it works out.

Re: CANUCKS SIGN UFA JASON GARRISON

Oakie, in his prime, would be a welcome addition to the club.

His throwback to the old fashioned non-exploding sticks would be OK too. How many sticks a game is Edler averaging?
