Re: MacKenzie: Corey Schneider to NJ for 9th overall pick
Let the Lou chants reign for another 9 years!! ANd when he hoists that cup the tears will be extra special. Yep. If that strombone tweet was legit: "I'll stay and back up for free if they let me sit in at every Torts press conference", it sounds like Lou will get over it quickly enough. That isn't ...

I think that was the asking price, not the offer.tantalum wrote: Oilers offer seems to have been the 7th, 2nd round pick and prospect.

Re: MacKenzie: Corey Schneider to NJ for 9th overall pick
Think you might be misreading Dreger's tweet. That was what Vancouver *wanted*, not what Edm offered.Hockey Widow wrote:Not liking this one. Reportedly Edmonton offered their 1st, 2nd and a roster player. Course this comes from Dreger so I find it hard to believe that MG would have passed on this.

Re: Luongo and Schneider Revisited (or is it continued?)
re: the idea that Lou wants out of Vancouver come hell or high water. I think we should bear in mind that less than four years ago, Lou WILLINGLY signed a deal to play in Vancouver until the end of time. What has changed? If he wanted to go back to Florida that badly, why sign a 12 year deal in Vanc...

Re: Gillis - Opportunity Knocking.
We should focus on the frwds for next yr. Filling roles and developing the correct players in their roles. Our D is good, not great but pretty solid I disagree. Our top 4 (Hamhuis Bieksa JG Edler) seems to be underperforming for what we pay it. We can't find a partner for Edler and he looks lost ou...

Re: Luongo and Schneider Revisited (or is it continued?)
The obvious problem is that Luongo can demand a trade in another few years at which time the Canucks are contractually obligated to move him and at that point the compliance buy out window is gone. I have a hard time worrying about that. Three years is a long time. We might be in full rebuild mode ...

Re: Should Gillis Trade Alexander Edler?
For what it's worth: @Real_ESPNLeBrun: Another player generated a lot of phone calls towards Vancouver is d-man Alex Edler. His NTC kicks in July 1 but teams are calling... Strangelove: Only if we get to negotiate an extension with Letang first. Garrison - Letang Hamhuis - Bieksa ASSHOLE - Tanev Alb...

Re: Luongo and Schneider Revisited (or is it continued?)
Anyway .....Nooooooo don't be handing a goaltender of schneiders quality to Edmonton ! It's gonna come back to haunt big time Hope this happens, as I said all along that we should keep Lou (unless of course he really wants out, which none of us know for sure). Schneider brings a vastly better retur...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)
Naw, if you're gonna entertain Letang fantasies you're gonna hafta give em Edler. Makes more sense for BOTH teams. I had the same thought. Our top 4 as currently composed does not play nicely together ... something has to change. Swapping out a lefty for a righty would be the answer. Hamhu...

Re: Re-sign the Sedins thread
There are four groups who, together, make up a substantial fraction of this board: 1. Irrational, obsessive Sedin haters. 2. Irrational, obsessive Luongo haters. 3. Irrational, obsessive Gillis haters. 4. Irrational, obsessive AV haters. I guess this thread is the playpen of group number 1. Group nu...

Re: Re-sign the Sedins thread
When we needed some offense our best players wilted away and allowed themselves to get punched in the face by little shrimps. This is boring crap, which Henrik addressed a while ago IIRC: "If we fight back, we're 'losing our composure', and if we don't fight back, we're wimps. It's been that way si...
