Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

Yeah, I agree, Brockstar does seem kind of off. When Brock was a rookie, he was a scoring threat from anywhere and could score playing with scrubs. Looking back at his game logs, he had 11 goals in November in his rookie year, then 8 in December. I believe the initial wrist slash was in the end of ...

Re: 2020 NHL Draft

So all the people who watch and rate these prospects (guys you constantly bring up if they say something you like) are out to lunch? The guys that actually watch these kids play don’t have a clue but you’re right on top of it. The same guys that talk to scouts to make these lists ALL have the Kings...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

Question for y'all.. What is wrong with Boeser? He hasnt looked like the same player this season at all. Hes a step slower, weaker on pucks and is taking forever to get his usually fast shot off. Is there an injury? Is he serving his sophmore slump season now? Is it the willy nylander effect? Somet...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

After Roussel's return, Jake worked himself into a few top line shifts and responded even with going back to 3rd line duty. His confidence grew, we've seen this before from him. Recall his play after his WJC disaster. Even though his play improved through that tourney, he will forever where the goa...

Re: Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond 2019/20

But I do not think the IIHF should let the NHL dictate the rules unilaterally. All future rule changes ought to be agreed on by represenatives from both bodies. Ya I agree with that in principle. And I think herein lies the problem, because the NHL has never been willing to accept the authority of ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

On another, positive note, Jake has got himself into the top-20 of 2014-drafted players this season with 19 points, and tied for 10th in goals. He is 5 points out of the top-10 for points overall, and 3 goals back of top-7 for goals. I'd say he's salvaged his value to at least a mid-1st round pick, ...

Re: Canucks Young Guns

According to an Islanders' blog, the KHL buyout process takes 15 months. So there is no reason for Pod to buy out his contract, as it has 15 months or so left.

Re: Canucks Young Guns

I think Pod can maybe buy out his contract, but this is rarely done - and I don't think it's ever been done just to sign an ELC in the NHL. The canucks will need to "negotiate"/bribe his KHL team to let him join the NHL next spring after the Russian season is over, allowing Pod to burn a year off hi...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

How about Loui and Baertschi to the Devils for PK? Replacing a press box and a farm player with a ... Top-4 dman? It's somewhat risky, given PK's sudden drop-off this year, but if he is dealing with an injury it's easier to LTIR one player than 2. Maybe throw in Stecher, then the right side is Tanev...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

. And there isn’t a lot of relief coming off the books in the next two years. All that said Hall is a good player but I’m not seeing the fit here. Ya video think I agree with your points, but I also think hall is very overrated. He's not a 90 point winger, he's a 60 point winger with top-line deplo...

Even if they had the prospect depth and 1st, there’s no way they’d have the cap space with all the deadweight on the cap.
Arizona pulled it off while also being an above cap/ LTIR team.

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

I had company and only caught some of the game but every time i sat down to watch i got to see Stetcher hemmed in his own zone unable to make a pass out. Every fuckin time. It was almost funny... Doyle if you dont think his inability to complete a pass is a major major reason why the team is gettin...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Obviously the key to any big acquisition is going to be getting rid of Loui. I have a new theory - he's quietly agreed to retire after playing out this year, in exchange for not getting demoted. It's the only explanation for why he's still in the press box that I can think of. I agree. Nothing happ...
