Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

If anything their Toronto coverage is getting worse, I also believe Sportsnet is now more Toronto biased that TSN. IF you visit Sportsnet, I would say the lead story you see on your phone is all about Toronto. Right now it is every Blue Jays, just check randomly over the next week at different time...

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

YOUR team in the midst of a rebuild traded a 1st rounder (Unprotected) for a 3rd liner making 5.25 million per and gave an at-best #4 D 6 million per. What a disaster. Looks like everyone forgot to point out that lie. And let's take this opportunity to remind tuna that his team, after a decade-long...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

But last season he was on the top pair for significant chunks of time, and he was way out of his depth. Meanwhile some fancy-stats darlings are trying to convince you that he's the best defencemen the Canucks have. Wasn't he on the top pair because our D was bad and often injured? We've improved ou...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

I don’t buy any of that crap ESQ. All I’m saying is they could do a lot worse than having Stecher on the third pair. He’s probably good enough to crack anybody’s top six albeit on most teams bottom pair. He is cheap labour, seems like a good kid, he’s local and seems well liked by his teammates. Ya...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

Why are we lumping Stecher in with that mouth breather? Don’t quite understand the hate the kid gets. He makes fuck all and he competes hard every night. Local kid to boot and a legit NHLer. By contrast an inferior and far more expensive player in Erik Gudbranson got miles of rope on this board. I ...

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Not bad Skyo, but my interpretation of what Eriksson's agent said, and what Benning said, is Loui is still sticking to his NTC. And any NTC will DEFINITELY include the Sens. Which is why I'm in favour of a credible threat of demotion, because I think that may be required to get Loui to waive to one ...

But Jimmy probably owes it to him to try to find another team for him right?
Sure, that's what waivers are for!

Re: Trade rumours & armchair pipe dreams 19-20 Sponsored by SKYO

Yeah, he was decent the in his last 10 games. Finally got the message? He's a guy I'd be happy with as farm depth for the playoff run. Save half his cap hit, and he has the potential to get somewhat hot (by 3rd/4th liner standards - 5 points in 11 games after his last healthy-scratch stretch from J...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

I don’t think I’d be signing Boeser to a four year deal. That takes him to within one year of UFA, similar to Jacob Trouba this summer and look at the pissant return the Jets got for him. Fair point, but the jets got a 1st and a young roster dman with upside. Not the worst return, considering they ...

Schallsy is a bum, throw him to the curb Why not see how his camp goes. He used to play with some jam. Maybe he had trouble with the new team or something His problem was Green didn’t like him. As soon as he was on for a few goals against he was instant dog house. Gonna play bottom six, don’t get s...

Alex Burrows Ring of Honour-(DEC.03.2019).
Sedin Week: Legends Night-(FEB.10.2020), Jersey Retirement-(vs Blackhawks,-FEB.12.2020), Legacy Night-(FEB.16.2020).
I would have liked to see the Sedins get individual nights - Daniel on 2/2 and Henrik on 3/3.

Re: I used to frequent this board back in the day -- I have some questions

I remember pauser and his manic depressive drivel when he used to pollute the call in shows of vancouver in 94. He was the caller from that larry and willy sound bite who whined "awwww quit picking on the Leaves" after the canucks destroyed and embarrassed them that cup run. He sounded like the All...
