Re: 2019/20 Pacific Division

I'm also looking at Calgary's -12 in goals for/against and wondering how sustainable that is over another 32 games. Ya, I think Tkachuk's become too much of a distraction at a key part of the season. The flames aren't resilient enough to be the least-respected team in the league, unlike the Bruins,...

Re: 2019/20 Pacific Division

Looks like Arizona is starting to fade, and I seriously question the timing of the Gallant firing in Vegas. Could the Pac go all-Canadian for the 1-2-3 seeds? For most of the year I thought the central would have the two wild card spots, so best seeding is 2nd or 3rd. But right now it looks like any...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

I've only heard of one player where it was otherwise (can't remember who it was). Was it Tyler Myers? Capfriendly has an NMC, but the media coverage at the time said it was modified for the expansion draft: Myers also has a no-move clause in the first year of the deal, a full no-trade clause over t...

Re: Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond 2019/20

Just providing updates on some of our first round picks from the last decade. Anything wrong with that? You lead off with "Gillis" not "Canucks" former 1st rounders in each one. Its gotten personal with you for some reason Yes, please re-tell the story of why the Chef dislikes Gillis, its too deep ...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

I could listen to this argument. It’s a hell of a lot better Yudell and his idea of parking Gaudette A fourth line of Loui/Sutter-/Beagle-Ferland would be truly built for the playoffs, or put Sutter with Gaudette again and shift Roussel to the 4th line - once the bottom-6 is healthy, there are seve...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

. There was a time when I had a hard time (not really) telling Markstrom and Nilsson apart. Big giant dudes with massive gloves the puck couldn't find. It would go over, it would go under but damn, the sweet spot was a rarity. Then a choice was made and one remained. Ian Clark enters the scene and ...

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

If you somehow get Sutter and Ferland back without anyone else getting hurt, who comes out? Two guys gotta sit. Schaller Beagle? Louis? They need Motte’s speed. Knowing Willie Green he will pull out Virtanen and Gaudette Motte's speed is providing no value when he can't get out of his own end. He's...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

If he's exposed, Demko will be claimed in the expansion draft.

Maybe they are better off to trade him, then Seattle will have to take a - Beagle, Roussel and Ferland would all be exposed.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

Muzzin and Reilly are both out now, leaving Travis Dermott, Justin Holl, Tyson Barrie, Martin Marincin, Cody Ceci and Sandin on D.

I guess Sandin is safe, Leaves will be sellers at the TDD.

Re: The Official CC "All Thing Leaves" thread

I wonder what they can get for Sandin at the TDD?

Credit to Dubas, he lotto protected the 1st he gave up to get rid of Marleau. Barely in the playoffs, no D depth and Muzzin's hurt so they can't even unload him at the deadline

Re: Canucks News n Notes 2019-2020

Yeah, ok. Imagining a pairing of the two is making shit up. They only had one D selected. So it would be pretty easy to imagine having 3 forwards out there with no D. Maybe they'll imagine having the women out there with the men too. Dont they ice 2 D during the pk in an all star game? Good point! ...
