Re: Kesler shoulder injury? Maybe more surgury?

Is there any source for this shoulder injury beyond Kuzma taking a guess?

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Schneider and back up equals 4.4 million (3.5 and 900K) next year. Cap space created 1.8 million. I doubt it. CS is an RFA. It would be entirely reasonable for a GM to throw $6.2 million at him --- that's (approximately) the cap for first, second, and third in compensation. For straight up trade va...

Re: MG Post Season Comments

Cody, arrogant (I pointed that out during his WJC performance) headcase who, by design, took only ~8 d zone face offs (something I pointed out back in November) all season. On a side note, according to Spudly, I am retarded when it comes to Cody. LOL. I gotta give you full props, I remember you say...

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

To me, the most curious thing is the timing. Its clear this isn't something that just popped into his head, he's been planning to say this right after the Canucks got eliminated for quite some time. This gives credence to HW's rumours about him wanting out since the beginning of the year at least. T...

Re: MG Post Season Comments

On the team: Was not happy with the overall performance of team from the Boston game on. Needs to evaluate what happened but saw something go off the rails but they could not get a feel for what was wrong. Just to add to that, he was questioned about the emotional pressure on players after the past...

Re: Off-Season Trade Thread - Needs/Wants

Other than moving a goalie ( and/or Kesler like i suggested) how in the hell do you revamp the teams offence ?? Well, there's drafting, developing prospects, free agency, signing decrepit Germans and trading them for emerging scoring wingers... During his presser Gillis talked about the "human mana...

Re: Off-Season Trade Thread - Needs/Wants

The #1 priority for GMMG this off season has to be to resolve the goaltending dilemma. Either trade Schneider and enjoy the bounty that comes back this way, or move Luongo. I highly doubt goaltending is the #1 priority for this team. Gillis just said in his presser, Luongo and Schneider are good fr...

Re: 2012 Post-Mortem thoughts

Trading Hodgson is going to set this team back. When will we learn to give young talents time? You mean, young talents like Kassian? From Gillis' end of season presser - he spent more time on Cody's issues than on all of the other players combined over 3 years. There were 6-7 players in the league ...

Re: 2012 Post-Mortem thughts

The only thing that really needs to be figured out this summer is, is it going to be Luo or is it going to be Schneid. Other than that, I am ok with the group going forward. You know, I thought this too, and I saw Boston Canuck post something similar in another thread. That's particularly interesti...

Re: Farhan's $0.02: Hats off to the LA Kings, and other thou

What I think the Canucks need to become Stanley Cup Champions: In one word, scoring....when it matters most. We need another top 6 player, and moving one of Luongo or Schneider this summer hopefully gets us that piece. After watching Detroit, Pitsburgh, and San Jose get bounced, combined with the f...

Re: 2012 Post-Mortem thughts

I seriously do not want to have Raymond as a Canuck next season. With proper training, he might regain his form but this team needs to be tougher up front, especially top-six. As I see the top 9 next year, there's Burrows, Kesler, Higgins, Lapierre, and Kassian, who I would consider "tough" players...

Re: Off-Season Trade Thread - Needs/Wants

What would it take to get Edmonton's first round pick? :D Schneider Let me think on that one... Actually if you're looking at trading away Edler, Edmonton is a prime candidate to get fleeced in that trade. I expect they'd give up a ton for a defenseman like Edler, sell him to the fan base as a #1, ...

Re: 2012 Post-Mortem thughts

Nice summary. I was considering starting a thread before the series started polling people's reasonable expectations for this year's playoffs. I ultimately didn't (didn't want to jinx them...clearly didn't work), but I thought going in they'd be out in the second round. Down the stretch, it became a...

Re: Bieksa's Kesler impersonation is priceless

I'm starting to get the impression that the interviewer was in on it, by the way he was giggling throughout. Also, Bieksa tends to not call people "idiots" or really make fun of them unless he knows them pretty well.

Maybe an old college buddy?
