Re: Farhan's $0.02: Has the time come to shop Hodgson/Schnei

This team as had a lot of trouble hanging on to first round picks, and when they have it takes forever to develop. The Sedins are among the top 5 or 6 forwards in the league now, but it took them almost 10 years to get there. For probably the first time since Linden, we have 2 first round picks who...

Re: I Hate It.....

I love the shoot out. Granted it's a little weird in the context of the hockey game however, it is super entertaining and most people love it (even though most wont admit it). While I will readily admit that I love the shootout for its entertainment component, I despise that it has bearing on the o...

I Hate It.....

I was thinking about things I hate about the NHL, and there wasn't really a thread for it, and then one thing was really bugging me for some reason, so I figured I would go ahead and start a thread that is all about bitching about the NHL and all its shortcomings. I was just looking at the standings...

Re: The BS Suspension Thread

Sutton now out indefinitely. Deservedly so. I won't be surprised if Anisimov ends up getting a call or fine from the league after his antics tonight. I thought it was hilarious, and that the goal was just a beauty of a passing play. I really don't see how it's any different than Byfuglien taunting t...

I wanted 5, he got 4. All things considered I'm pretty satisfied with that.

Re: GDT: Les Canucks câlisser une volée Les Habs! - 430PM; S

Had to leave with 10 minutes left in the 3rd.....just about had a stroke when I saw we won in the shootout with Luongo in net, especially after 2 of the 3 goals he let in early on. After watching the replays I have to say, that if Luongo can play like that in the S/O then he's made some key adjustme...

Re: 11/12 Injury Thread

I just watched the highlight of that hit.....Porter knew he was going to miss him well in advance and totally lead into that hit with the knee. It almost looks as if he was targeting Booth's knee there as he comes in for that pass at him and wasn't even in the same lane as Booth. It wasn't like Boot...

Re: Canucks Acquire David Booth & Parts + Various Rumours

I have heard the same things, but I still think he's been incredibly lucky. His current shooting percentage is 21.4% which is almost 3 times as high as the 8% he was at last year. I don't doubt that he has improved his offensive game but there is no way he can sustain that shooting percentage. This...

Re: NHL APPROVES NEW FOUR-CONFERENCE FORMAT FOR NEXT SEASON

I'm a season ticket holder and I sell over 60% of my tickets, then use that money to pay for playoffs. I see this set up as significantly improving ticket demand over the next few years. The toughest tickets to sell currently are mini, nash, clb, edm, col, phx, and stl. We are losing some games aga...

Re: NHL APPROVES NEW FOUR-CONFERENCE FORMAT FOR NEXT SEASON

I'm all for this realignment. It seems to be something the league has looked at and seriously factored in the travel and time zone issues. We will now only play around 20 games in a time-zone that is more than 2 hours different from our own, and we will be skating plenty of nights in our own time-zo...

Re: GDT: Canucks vs Flames; SNET P and SNET W; 6:00 pm PST

Anyway, they better do it quick - by next year, those dasterdly Oilers may prove to be too big of a hurdle for the Canucks. It's true that the line of Eberle-Nugent - Hopkins - Hall is dangerous and only going to get better, however, beyond that the Oiler's have the oft-injured Hemesky and that's i...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Sarich would be an upgrade on Rome. He hits harder, he's grittier, tougher, exactly what the Canucks need against teams that want to bully them. His salary is too high though.

Re: GDT: Canucks vs Predators | Dec 1 @ 7pm | SNET-VAN (HD),

Meds, the 1st example I mentioned, Cody and the other canuck were pretty much rubbing butt cheeks as Cody got to the play and turned away. The second example was a loose puck in the nuetral zone, Cody could have made a play for it if he was willing, but instead faded off, giving up on the puck and ...

Re: GDT: Canucks vs Predators | Dec 1 @ 7pm | SNET-VAN (HD),

I know AV likes to green-light the defense but I'm getting palpitations watching Rome and Alberts pinching down low every shift like they're freaking Paul Coffey. The chance of them actually contributing offensively from there is far outweighed by the chance of their team getting burned becaude the...
