Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Now we have journeymen, all teams do but Sutter and Eriksson were supposed to be more than that. They aren't and IMO, wont. I have no problem with finding a way to punt the both of them. Ask for Sutter's list and in Eriksson's case, I would call him into my office and say look: You have not lived u...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

How much salt could it be in the wound if McDavid and Hall are both invited to the World Championship team and get to play together and absolutely destroy as linemates? I sometimes shudder to think what could have been there with them as a duo. Hall is one of the few guys that could actually skate ...

Re: Around the league (signings, RFAs injuries)

Quite entertaining listening to some of the talking heads discuss the dumpster fire that is Edmonton. Some are now saying that if the ship does not look to be righting mightily next year that none of them would be surprised if McDavid asks for a trade should the Coil miss the playoffs again next sea...

Re: 2019 UFA

Canucks throughout its history for UFA's have done best signing a 2nd/3rd line winger on a reasonable deal, or a defensive dmen on reasonable deals. Notables: Anson Carter, Pavol Demitra, M. Samuelsson, Willie Mitchell, Dan Hamhuis, A. Cassels, Tanev, Vrbata, Burrows. Done horrendous overspending o...

I suppose fatigue could account for his lack of quickness down the stretch but there was a fairly defined drop from elite to average that might indicate injury.

When would disclosure take place if there was something?
Season end media availability would be my guess.

Re: Canuck News and Notes - 2018-2019

Pettersson's drop off is far more likely the result one see's from almost every hot starting rookie who has never played an 82 game season before. He played 57 last year in the SHL, and that included the playoffs if I'm not mistaken. Look at Matthews and McDavid, and remember that Pettersson is not ...

Another good game for Eriksson - Bo - Pearson.

Loui might earn his keep if he’s still next year and on a line that is producing.

Get a good winger to play with Pettersson and Boeser and that could be a legit top-6.

Re: Jim Ignitowski Benning

whatever happens, one of Marky or Demko is going to be exposed. Or one of them is traded to a team that then protects him. I doubt it, the only team that would trade for a goalie before the draft would have to have nobody worth protecting in their system. Some teams are/will-be there. I'm talking a...

Re: Jim Ignitowski Benning

Given his age, Seattle might not even want him. They might prefer who's available between Demko/Markstrom. Hmm that's a good point. I feel like there will be better goalies available then Demko, but surely Edler will be one of the 6 best defensemen available. Unless Demko tanks he will be among the...

Peason is what Gaunce isn't. Same draft year. Almost incredible to think that Pearson and Gaunce were the same draft year. It feels like Pearson has been a name regularly heard out of LA for ages, and Gaunce is a rarely mentioned player even among Canuck fans. Is Pearson what Gaunce isn't because t...

Hmm that's a good point. I feel like there will be better goalies available then Demko, but surely Edler will be one of the 6 best defensemen available. I was thinking, maybe we should just offer Edler a one year contract at a high salary (like $7-$8M). This way, we don't have to protect him for th...
