Re: 11/12 Training Camp Thread

There's way too little input here! Come on, people, I'm suffering from serious withdrawal, and it seems like an eternity till they drop the puck in the NHL. I'm guessing that's because folks on this side of the pond actually watched the two-month playoff run that feels like it ended a few we...

The Arabs rejected the UN vote, and took decades to see their mistake.
Imagine that. Arabs taking decades to see their mistakes.

Re: 11/12 Training Camp Thread

Nice job Coco. If you trade Ballard you have to bring another good D the other way. Rome/Alberts/Tanev playing five through seven is asking for trouble given our propensity for injuries on the back end. I think Keith will get plenty of top-4 minutes this year and I expect a great season from him. I ...

The Singularity is Near by Ray Kurzweil. It's science, which is usually not my gig, but this one is intriguing. The author is a certified genuis who has been on the cutting edge of the computer industry since the 60's. It explains how real AI is close and that it will explode our progress a thousan...

Winchester has proven himself at this level more than any of the other guys fighting for fourth line duty, including Oreo. He seems like a perfect fit to me. Hope they sign him.

Hey guys. So creeper's wife has extended his Legacy obituary guestbook in the Vancouver Sun for a year. She is making it into two books for Creepy's son Will and daughter Marissa. Creeper's mom would love it if you guys felt like writing a little something there about Rob. You don't have to leave yo...

It is exactly the kind of post I was hoping for when I first began using threads on hockey. You can get help for that, you know. I suggest total abstinence. I live in NY and one of my best friends out here is a died in the crap Boston fan. I know just how he feels. Certain posts in this thread make...

Whatever, Hussein Obama woulda spent it on fur coats and 19-inch rims for everybody.
Which reminds me, heard the one about what Obama and Dick Cheney have in common? Both have shot an old man in the face.

Re: Best War Movie?

Band of Brothers is better than any war movie! Better than The Breakfast Club? Where a wealthy young Molly Ringwald is forced to go to war with her own misconceptions concerning the social constructs of division within economic class strata? I don't fuckin' think so. As well as Gladiator. He said w...

Re: TV Shows: What are you watching?

And regarding the Game of Thrones show, yes, it is very good. A little clunky early in the season but the actors really find their groove by the eighth episode. It really lacks the tremendous backstory and vivid detail of the novels, but as far as adaptions go it is top notch. Can't wait for season 2.

Haha. Like a steel trap, Doc. A steel trap.

And an excellent memory too.

Re: TV Shows: What are you watching?

Game of Thrones is far and away the best new series this year IMHO. Never read the books, want to now. Was totally blindsided when they killed Sean Bean and Jason Momoa, but love any story with the balls to put some early build up into some characters and then kill them. I'm an even bigger fan of t...
