Re: 11/12 Training Camp Thread

Not to be mean, but what if Hodgson is not quite ready for the bigs? What if he is demoted when Kess comes back.... or sooner ?? If he's not ready we don't have a 2nd line to start the season. Or what if Kesler, who has now been cleared for full contact, is back far quicker then anyone expected. An...

Re: 11/12 Training Camp Thread

Not the dreaded double-sarcasm whoosh job!

I've been had!

(grin)

P.S. Take that tong out of your mouth. No sense torturing yourself over a minor miscommunication.

Re: Topper's Grilling Advice!

OK, so I'm sipping a G&T in the pub, I've had a couple scotches, and I'm feeling real good. In walks my date. She has a big cast on her arm. I'm serious you guys, her fucking arm is broken! No mention of this in our conversations! She's pretty hot, but what the hell am I supposed to do with this gim...

Re: 11/12 Training Camp Thread

I don't know man, I reckon this signing is a real slap in the face to the legions of fans on this site who were adamantly opposed to getting tougher and meaner on the fourth line while still bringing an element of responsibility. Who are you talking about? I cant think of one poster who was "adaman...

Re: 11/12 Training Camp Thread

Despite all the posts it look to me like MG is leaning heavily towards brining in muscle. This guy will help :? Don't think many if any are against adding muscle / team toughness...but said player(s) need to be able to contribute as well, and not be a liability in the playoffs. Hopefully Weise can ...

Indeed, that should be in the joke thread!

Do we have one of those yet?

Re: Topper's Grilling Advice!

OK, so the steaks turned out killer. But more importantly, everyone's favourite Canucks message board war criminal has himself a big date tonight! Yes, areseholes, with a woman. A very attractive woman at that, and I've come to believe that her good lucks are matched only by her lack of intelligence...

Heh. If he'd been training with GSP there'd be no way he KO's anybody. More likely, he'd lie on top of Winchester for 25 minutes and give him a backrub.

Re: Your 2011-2012 Vancouver Canucks

Our fourth line looks more effective than our second line. Lots of holes still. I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. We have one of the best second-line centers in the league on the shelf to start the year, so there's obviously a big downgrade there -- but as much of a floater as Sammy can be, ...

Re: The BS Suspension Thread

What will be really interesting is seeing how Shanny and the refs officiate the playoffs this year. I have a feeling much will depend on the sweater the offender is wearing as opposed to the cheapness of the play... just like last year. For all decisions involving Canucks he will ask Brian Burke, D...

Re: Your 2011-2012 Vancouver Canucks

I'm not even counting on Raymond returning this season so I left him out... hard to see where he'd fit in a healthy lineup anyway, barring a trade. Mason Raymond should honestly take the entire year off. He's not a sniper, he's not a shit disturber, he's not a set up man and he's not a grinder. He'...

Re: Your 2011-2012 Vancouver Canucks

Well makes you feel a whole lot better. The difference between last year roster and this, Erhoff and 50 pts gone, Volpatti for Torres, Hodgson Sturm and Ebbett for an ailing Kesler and Raymond. We're sure to win the SC this season...because this year we're.........right ........the same or weaker t...

Re: 11/12 Training Camp Thread

Ugh, Volpatti? Volpatti is a limited player but if you buy into the theory that the canucks lack toughness then you cant do much better then what we saw last night from this player. Last night he sent 2 sharks to the quiet room, one of whom was a guy a lot of people were clamouring for Gillis to si...
