Re: GDT - Feb 13, 2012 Coyotes at Vancouver 7PM S-net Pacifi

Heard Barbara was starting for the Yotes. He gives the Canucks fits but with the way Smith is playing have to wonder if Yotes are being too strategic.

Re: Trade 1 of the Sedins?

Sedins are Art Ross/Hart Caliber players, Suter and Weber never will be. Suter and Weber are more like Naslund and Bertuzzi, two excellent players. But not superstars. IMHO a Norris trophy winner is just as important as a Hart trophy winner. Suter and Weber are both elite D-men......easily top 10 i...

Re: GDT - Feb 11, 2012 at Calgary 7PM CBC

^ And good teams find ways to win and to manage their losses. We found a way to win 3 games we should not have and managed our loss in the one game we should have won. Thats 7-8 points. Right now we miss Higgins for his spark and his intensity and our 5-6 D pair cause us grief. Once Higgins gets ba...

Re: GDT - Feb 11, 2012 at Calgary 7PM CBC

Kind of ironic that the best game of the road trip is the one we lost. But 7-8 points works for me. The Calgary Vancouver games just no longer have the lustre they used to. We woke up when it was 2-0 and really could have won that game in regulation but hats off to Kipper. He stole 2 points for the ...

Re: The Official CC What / Who we need - 11/12

I don't think we need to do much either. The one caveat to that is if Nashville offers us one of Suter or Weber. And that is not going to happen. But if they were letting it be known that one or both of them could be had at the deadline then I'd like to see MG all over it, within reason that is. No ...

Re: GDT - Feb 9, 2012 at Minnesota Wild 5PM S-NET-P

HW, now that Ballard is on his way back to Vancouver, what of the rumblings you've offered surrounding him not being injured and the team not happy with him? Hard to know what to make of it. I think he does have some type of injury but if he was a top 4 and relied upon I think he would be playing t...

Re: GDT - Feb 9, 2012 at Minnesota Wild 5PM S-NET-P

I doubt we will piss Ballard away. I think he is being shopped for two reasons. One his cap hit and two he has not shown he has earned the trust of the coach for whatever reasons. If he was paid 2-3 million maybe you can swallow having him on the team under he circumstances but as it stands his 4.2 ...

Re: GDT - Feb 9, 2012 at Minnesota Wild 5PM S-NET-P

I think we are stronger with a 5-6 of Tanev and Ballard than Rome and Alberts. Rome and Alberts do give us more toughness but a much poorer bottom paring IMO. I heard some interesting tidbits re Ballard today. It seems that RD is not the only one that does not have confidence in him. Seems some of h...

Re: The BS Suspension Thread

I think the Finals were a different beast, as they are every year. I fully expect that the Finals will always be different. But last season had an added dimension. That was the overblown media driven hype about Vancouver being divers, whiners and embellishers. At the time I loved how Mg came out and...

Re: GDT: Dogfish @ Killer Whales - 1PM - SNET

So Rome gets to move to the right tonight and Ballard gets to play the left. Rome didn't look to bad and Ballard looked much better. Good win. A little sloppy for times but we pulled it out. They won the special teams battle tonight so give them credit, a SH and a PP goal. Our PP is still number one...

Re: Trade Deadline Discussion

It does seem simple at face value doesn't it. Count me in with those that think the Tanev re-call is to find a solid r/s D man to help offset the loss of Salo but moving forward to help stabilize the bottom pairing. Ballard and Tanev played well together on the bottom pairing and if Tanev is going t...

Re: Trade Deadline Discussion

who said anything about Scott Stevens. Next time read the post . All I said was Luke can be developed into a top 4 D. Guaranteed superstar? Where do you see that on my post? IMO the Leaves destroyed any confidence that an 18 year-old could possess. The Leaves were going nowhere that year and it was...

Re: Tanev recalled

We all know that Ballard and Tanev made a very strong paring last year. This move allows AV to play to Ballard's strengths and have him play his strong side. If that improves the D and their ability in moving the puck it is a good thing for the roster. Listening to AV tonight he sounded resigned to ...
