Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

Heard that MG is not any closer to pulling the trigger on a Luongo deal. Still haven't received any offers they would seriously consider. Of course things could change but for now it seems quiet.

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Heard the Canucks have made an offer to defenceman James Vandermeer. One year, two way at $750,000. He won't accept a 2 way deal but if the Canucks make it a one way he will accept. There is your Rome replacement.

Re: Shane Doan

I'm hearing Canucks are high on his list if he decides to leave Phoenix but he is also very very high on LA and a chance to win there.

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

And if his meeting is with Luongo what makes you think he hasn't asked for and received permission to do so?

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

I don't think it is simply loyalty to the franchise. It's loyalty and ties to the community. He met his wife there I believe. He has a ranch there. He is raising his family there. He is strongly tied to his church (he is David Booth 8 years older) I know we all like to pretend to such things don't ...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

I just don't think money will be the main motivator for Doan. He is a family man and I doubt he wants to move around any more than he has to. If he leaves Phoenix he will pick a destination where he gets his 4-5 year deal, and he will get it. The only real question is does MG want to offer that. Wel...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

The first thing Doan needs to do is get his head around the idea of moving from Phoenix. If he can do that and feel good about moving forward then he needs to decide what he wants in terms of finishing his career. What we do know about him is this: He is religious. He is a strong family man. He is a...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

where is Webers wife from???if she is from Nashville he will stay in Nashville...if she is a BC girl...Shea is comin' home with her to the Canucks...happy wife...happy life...any smart man knows that!!! He's not married, but his girlfriend is from Kelowna. Good sign, though it didn't do much for Sc...

Re: Offseason Wheelings and Dealings

Weber's first choice has always been, according to him, to remain in Nashville. Why would he consider a LTC this year, one year from FA, if he hasn't been willing to do so previously? The only reason I can think of is the pending new CBA and the uncertainty it brings. That may be the fly in the oint...

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

We can always add Raymond to the mix if it gets us a tougher winger in the deal. It is a bitter sweet moment for the fans I think. Exciting to see what Cory can bring but a bit of sadness that Luongo will be moving on.

Re: Luongo will Waive NTC If Asked To

The interview also shows he is willing to waive and go to several teams, although we obviously don't know which ones. He also said he would listen to any offer and make a decision that was not only good for him but fair to the Canucks. He also said never say never, he may be back even though he feel...

Re: Wild agree to terms with Suter and Parise

Before the Preds took Weber to arbitration last year he had a few days where he was free to talk to teams. I'm sure a lot of GM's talked to his agent to try and figure out what he wants and may have some sense of what will motivate him. He has always said what motivates him the most is a chance to w...

Re: CANUCKS SIGN UFA JASON GARRISON

If he replaces Salo's shot from the point we are winners right there. If he is more willing to use his shot and is more accurate than Salo we are winners there. One of the reasons Ehrhoff was so effective was his willingness to shoot and although not as hard as Salo he was accurate and could get a g...

Re: Wild agree to terms with Suter and Parise

If he cant work out a long term deal in the next 8 months I could see Poile hang onto Weber until next year's trade deadline, and then see where they are and/or what they could get. This is where the 1-year offer sheet kicks in (as others have mentioned) Sign Weber to a 1-year $6mil offersheet (wit...
