Re: Rypien passes away

Wow, wasn't expecting that news. This was not sudden at all from the standpoint that his personal issues were obviously known to the Canucks, meaning (I assume) his family and friends were in the know as well. Add it all up and I figured he must be getting the help he needed. Unfortunatley that isn'...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Flames sign Scott Hannan, 1 year, $1 million http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=373721 Drat. Not that I wanted him here, but I think that pretty much eliminates the loss of Regehr for the Flamers. Not that I particularly care about either of the two slow-footed, pre-lockout built D, but 2011 Regehr > ...

Re: 25 most over rated players

Would have been an interesting (and controversial) read if it had been written 2 seasons ago.

For the sake of accuracy it should just be re-named "Shooting 24 fish in a barrel, plus Mike Richards"

So, IMO, it's really not as much on RL as is it is on AV. Glad we agree 8-) Interesting read over at Misconduct. Take a gander: http://www.nucksmisconduct.com/2011/7/17/2280342/stuck-in-the-middle-with-lu Yeah, I think this is the best one I've seen as far as trrying to create a number to compare a...

Re: Bringing back the Roberto Luongo of 2006/07 (and that st

Call me an optimist, I like to think Luo will come back more focus and with his ego in check because of SCF. You're an optimist. Luongo sure looked pretty humbled after being lit up by Chicago two years in a row. All that seemed to do was give him a complex, judging by his performance against them ...

Re: From Bountiful to Ponoka

Ripping on the Flames just isn't much fun anymore. Gotta disagree there, but maybe that's just because I live in Calgary. I for one will continue to repeatedly kick them while they're down, because it's not going to last forever. I don't expect their fortunes to turn around anytime soon, but when t...

Re: trades, worthy of chat!

Burns is a very good offensive player. He's 6'5 and takes the body well, but he's not exactly a physically imposing D-man nor is he a shut-down defender. The Sharks are banking on Burns staying healthy and being a +50 point D-man by giving him a hefty $5.75M annual cap hit. On an offensively talent...

Re: trades, worthy of chat!

Not a trade, but a fairly interesting move. Sharks sign Brent Burns to a 5 year contract extension.

Like the pickup for the Sharks, but they are taking a fairly sizable gamble that he can stay healthy.

No.

The Canucks aren't interested, according to Botchford.

Re: Winchester to sign with VAN

This signing would be really, really, really....good. While I like that MG is obviously trying to add bottom six toughness, Winchester has actually proven that he can play a regular shift in the NHL. Can't say that about Mancari, Archibald, Duco or Pinizzotto. Bitz is debatable, especially coinsider...
